Purpose:
To provide a one thousand dollar scholarship to a worthy female basketball
player from the Greater Houston Area.
Eligibility:
1. Any senior basketball player who has competed at the varsity level.
2. The basketball player nominated must not have received a basketball
scholarship.
3. If the recipient receives a basketball scholarship after she is selected
for the Gordon Loucks scholarship, she must forfeit the Gordon
Loucks scholarship.
4. The applicant’s basketball coach must be a member of the GHAGBA.
Criteria:
Every applicant will complete a questionnaire and return it to Barbara Leon
at the address listed at the bottom of this application. Scholarship
application must be received no later than February 15, 2008. The
questionnaire must have the applicant’s official transcript in a sealed
envelope. A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s basketball coach
and high school counselor must be submitted with the application.
Scholarship:
The Greater Houston Area Girls Basketball Association and its appointed
Scholarship Committee will determine the winner of the $1,000 scholarship.
