CALLINGTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE Academy Trust TEACHER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION PART TIME 0.6 – 0.8 FTE (MATERNITY) MPS We are seeking to appoint a high quality, enthusiastic, flexible and well qualified teacher of girls PE to play a significant role in the further development and continued success of Physical Education at the College. The Physical Education department has 10 teaching staff working in it and provides a friendly, professional and supportive environment in which to work. We have excellent facilities which include a 3G pitch, large Sports Hall, a Gym, Fitness Suite, floodlit tennis courts and a tennis Dome which also houses trampolining and gym equipment and extensive playing fields. The successful candidate must be willing and able to teach core PE and subject related examination courses to students in Key Stages 3, 4 and preferably 5. Examination courses include BTEC First Award Level 1 / 2 Sport, GCSE PE, A level PE and Level 3 Sport BTEC Diploma and Extended Diploma pathways. The successful applicant will have particular strengths and interests and we are keen to support and enable them to use these fully. TEACHER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION PERSON SPECIFICATION The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate: Excellent communication skills: aural, oral and written Efficient and effective organisation An understanding of current educational issues An ability, experience and willingness to teach and assess Physical Education to students in all key stages. The ability to teach Sport BTEC to Level 3 would be desirable.
