ATASCADERO STATE HOSPITAL
IS HIRING PSYCHOLOGISTS
Atascadero State Hospital continuously accepts clinical
psychologist applications on an ongoing basis to fill positions as
needed. The implementation of a Recovery model of care has
created opportunities to hire clinical psychologists with relevant
experience in substance abuse treatment, dialectical behavior
therapy, treatment of seriously mentally ill individuals, cognitive
rehabilitation, designing behavior plans, implementing positive
behavior supports, conducting forensic evaluations and providing
forensic testimony.
Atascadero State Hospital is a 1250 bed JCAHO accredited forensic
psychiatric treatment facility. Atascadero is located in the Central
Coast of California, mid-way between Los Angeles and San
Francisco, 20 miles away from the university town of San Luis Obispo
and close to the Pacific Ocean. The hospital also has an APAaccredited internship. Starting salary of approximately $97,000
per year for licensed psychologists and 78,000 per year for prelicensed psychologists, with excellent health and retirement
benefits.
Minimum requirements include having earned a Ph.D./Psy.D. in
Clinical Psychology and California licensure or eligibility required.
Psychologists are active members of the hospital’s Medical Staff. All
applications will be screened, and hiring preference will be given to
those with relevant experience and who are licensed or eligible to be
licensed in California.
