Journal of Competition Law & Economics Style Guidelines Title: 1The title should normally not exceed 10 words. In addition to the full title of the paper, authors should also supply a running title of less than 40 characters. Author’s name and bio: Author’s name should appear centered under the title. A footnote (asterisk for the first author, dagger for the second) should indicate the author’s position, contact email, and (if desired) brief acknowledgements. Please disclose any conflict of interest, e.g., your involvement in a case you are commenting on. A short bio not exceeding one sentence may also be included however, please do not mention degrees and qualifications or include a bibliography. Sub-divisions: Please use headings and sub-divisions. Headings should not be declarative sentences. The first paragraph after a heading or new sub-division should be flush to the margin. Subsequent paragraphs should be indented. The main headings should be aligned on the left, in all caps, and numbered I, II, III, and so on. Second-level headings should be aligned on the left, bolded, and lettered A, B, C, and so on. Third-level headings should be aligned on the left, italicized, and numbered 1, 2, 3, and so on. Citations should be avoided in headings. Abstract: Articles should be accompanied by an abstract, which will appear, indented on both sides, in the front of the main body of the text. It should be written in complete sentences and should summarize the paper in less than 200 words. The abstract should be comprehensible to readers before they read the paper, and abbreviations and citations should be avoided. JEL Codes: JEL codes should be provided beneath the abstract. Paragraph Spacing: Articles should be single spaced with no lines between the paragraphs. All text and footnotes should be fully justified. Figures and Tables: All figures and tables should be numbered and titled. The titling of figures should not contain capitalized letters following the initial word. Table and figure titles should be in 9pt. Times New Roman font. Table text should be in 9pt. Times New Roman font. In general, include only table top and bottom and column heading bottom borders. See the example provided. Provide sources for the tables and figures below the table or figure. Citations: Footnotes should be used instead of endnotes; they should appear in numerical follow any closing punctuation. There should be no in text citations and no citations in footnotes.
