Now, he plans to be there again when Salvadorans vote again on March 15 but this time will, he hopes, be different. All polls suggest that the FMLN, former guerillas turned leftist political party will win the presidency for the first time. But first, local musicians, activists, delegates will gather for an evening of entertainment and fun with the goal of raising some of the travel costs of six locals who will join sixty delegates from around the US who will travel with CISPES as election monitors delegation. It’s really important that observers be there,” Grosser said. “The ruling ARENA party, unfortunately with the full cooperation of our government, has held on to power in past elections through a potent mix of fraud, vote buying and voter intimidation. We will be there to hold the government accountable, so Salvadorans can vote their conscience and exercise their choice freely.” We invite your coverage of this event—interviews with performers and delegates will be available as will photo and taping opportunities of the performances. --30--
