COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
SHELDON CHRISTIAN:
 Make plans to join us for Sheldon Christian School's Annual Winter Auction on Friday,
February 27. Come enjoy a pork loin sandwich supper beginning at 5:00 p.m. followed by the
auction starting at 6:30 p.m. We will also have baked goods and promotion items for sale from
3:30-7:30 p.m.
UNITY:
 A team of students from Unity Christian High School will be going to Nicaragua next
summer on a mission trip. They will have a Tip Night at the Sioux Center Pizza Ranch on
Monday, February 2 from 4:45pm-8:30pm. The students going on the trip will be serving you.
 Homecoming 2015 will be held at Unity Christian High School on Friday, February 6. Unity
alumnus from the class of 2005, Sarah Breen Graham, will speak at the chapel at 1:00 p.m.
The Homecoming court will be presented after the speaker. Evening activities, beginning at
3:45 p.m., will include basketball games, presentation of Homecoming royalty, and dance team
performances. All alumni and friends of UCHS are invited to the afternoon and evening
activities.
 Enjoy an evening out - proceeds go to Nicaragua team. If you are looking for a babysitter so
you and your sweetheart can celebrate Valentine's Day, Unity Christian's Nicaragua Trip team
members are offering babysitting services on Saturday, February 14 from 5:00pm-9:00pm in
two locations. You can either bring your kids to Unity in Orange City or to Faith CRC in Sioux
Center. We ask that you RSVP by Thursday, February 12 to Rhonda Van Donge at
rvandonge@unitychristian.net or 441-3722. We will have games planned, activities for the
kids, and pizza for supper. The cost is freewill donation, with the proceeds (minus the pizza for
supper) going toward our trip this summer.
Make your Valentine night special. Our Savior Lutheran Church is offering babysitting for your date
night, February 14 from 6:00 - 8pm. Due to limited space we request that you call Sonja at 712-3249790 for reservations by February 7. Cost: free will donation. Location: 1225 S. 2nd Ave, Sheldon.
All single young adults who enjoy studying the Bible, participating in planned and spur of the
moment events, are invited and welcomed at the next Young Adult Christian Singles event.
Fellowship, food, and fun begins at 7:00pm on Saturday, February 14 at Northwestern Bank in

Cycle to End Poverty! Registration is now open for the 10th anniversary ride of the Sea to
Sea Bicycle Tour. Join other cyclists this summer for a 6-day ride in Ontario or a 10-day ride in
Alberta and raise money for the fight against poverty. Proceeds will fund ministry by World Renew,
Partners Worldwide, International Justice Mission, and local poverty initiatives in communities along
the route. Volunteers are also urgently needed to assist with both rides. For information or to register,

FREE WEBINAR - Join us on February 4 when Mike Hogeterp and Mark Charles will present
"Icebergs in History-The Doctrine of Discovery". They will examine how the DoD may have shaped
our relationships with Indigenous Peoples and address key questions: "What is the DoD?" "Why is it

Serve Hand-in-Hand with Youth in the Dominican Republic - This summer you can meet collegeage students from the Dominican Republic and serve with them to reach out to local children. From

SERVE & LEARN IN EGYPT - This unique spring time opportunity to come alongside World
Missions' staff in Cairo, Egypt awaits you from April 27 – May 7/15. You'll help build a rooftop gazebo
at a seminary, meet with and encourage pastors and also visit some amazing churches. Additional
