motto has already announced the EEF Best Institutions award for Engineering College & for Polytechnic as well as
Best Teachers Awards for 2009-10 and also given away these awards in September 2011. In continuation of this
Quality Mission, EEF is pleased to announce the following awards for the year 2011-12

The participating institutions (Engineering Colleges) are expected to hold competition for the
Best Engineering Teacher of the Institution for which they should lay down their own procedure & criteria & thus
select two faculty members – one male and one female for the EEF awards. The application for the awards in
prescribed form will be available from the Foundation from 15th March 2012 on www.ritindia.edu in the form of
Annexure I, II and III. The participating institutions should download the same & should send application by post to
reach before 20th April 2012 with a DD of Rs 1000/- each for Sr. No. 1 and 2 above and Rs. 1000/- for Sr. No. 3 and
4 combined (even if application will be sent for either Sr. No. 3 or Sr. No.4, registration fee remains 1000/- only) in
favor of Engineering Education Foundation, Pune at the address given below.

Information about Engineering Education Foundation
Engineering Education Foundation (EEF) was established in Pune in 1996 as a Public
Trust. It is a voluntary Non Government Organization (NGO). It is the only establishment of its
kind in the country committed to play a key role in growth, development and achievement of
excellence in Engineering Education, in India.
Our mission is to ensure quality and achievement of world class standards so that
engineering institutions in India can hold their own standard against competition from foreign
universities. It is also our objective to elevate engineering teaching to the status of a profession,
so that engineering educators command due respect in society. We also quarterly publish
‘Journal of Engineering Education’ since 1986; we shall be publishing our 99th quarterly issue in
January 2012 which also is the XIII special issue which will be on the topic “Technological
Universities of India”.
About the award:
Objective:
In order to promote technical education in state, Engineering Education Foundation Pune, has
decided to give annual state award of Rs.5000/- for an Engineering college having best overall
performance along with trophy and certificate.
Eligibility:
A.I.C.T.E. approved Engineering institutes in Maharashtra. It is necessary that at least two
batches of students have passed out from the college.
How to apply:

Applications are invited in the prescribed format for the award.


NOMINATIONS INVITED
Nominations are invited from all approved Engineering Colleges for the BEST ENGINEERING
COLLEGE PRINCIPAL AWARD year 2011-12.
OBJECTIVE OF THE AWARD
To encourage Heads of Engineering Colleges to develop outstanding leadership Qualities in
institutional development and management and a commitment to Quality and standards in all
programmes.
ELIGIBILITY
Principals of Engineering Colleges with a minimum of three years of experience as regular
Principal. Age not to exceed 60 years at the time of application for the award. Only one Principal
will be given the award in a year.
DETAILS OF THE AWARD
The award includes :
 Cash Prize of Rs.: 5,000/Award winner’s name will be announced during the Foundation day of EEF.
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE AWARD?
Nomination for the award has to be sent in the prescribed nomination form. The nomination form
consists of three parts-Instrument of Assessment, Performance indices and a Questionnaire. The
instrument of Assessment has to be certified by Board of Management of the College. For the
RECs, any member of the Board of Management can certify. Part B and C of the nomination
form have to be certified by the Principal, Weightage given to Parts A,B and C of the nomination
form in the final selection of the Award Winner is 30: 40: 30.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE AWARD
1. The award should go to a full time teacher of an Engineering College and of Polytechnic
including the Head of the Institution.
2. The teacher must fulfill the following pre-requisites:

He/She must have done commendable creative work of national
/international repute and got recognition therefore.
The work done must have relevance to the Indian scenario and it would
have :
-Enhanced the image of the institution.
-Improved the pass out rates and placement
-Facilitated the generation of funds for the institution
-Helped in import substitution, developing prototypes, getting patents
-Enabled to revise the curriculum/update the laboratory practices at the
State/National levels
