Travel Grant for PhD Students and Post-doctoral Researchers Terms of application 1. Applicants must be members of the Division to which they apply. 2. Applicants may only apply to one Division per application. 3. Grants are available to PhD students and post-doctoral researchers within five years of completion of a PhD (excluding time for career breaks, parental leave, etc.). 4. Each member can receive one grant per year. 5. The conference or workshop applied for may be run by the RSC or by another organisation. 6. The conference or workshop should be linked to the applicant's research area or provide a credible opportunity for the applicant to move into another research area or develop a multi-disciplinary project. 7. The participant should give either a poster or an oral presentation at the conference or workshop. 8. The applicant should submit their oral or poster abstract(s) as part of their application. 9. The participant should acknowledge support from the relevant RSC Division in their presentation. 10. Divisions request that a letter of support from the applicant's supervisor be included as part of the application. 11. Money will be paid on successful application. Any unused funds remaining after conclusion of the activity should be returned to the Division. 12. Divisions request a brief report be submitted after the conference, outlining the benefits to you from participation in the meeting. 13. Please note that we recommend you submit your application a minimum of three months before you need a decision.
