Our goal is to provide the best care possible for you and your pet. In order to be as effective and efficient as we can, we ask that you read and follow these instructions prior to your appointment. If there is any chance that your pet might be undergoing an anesthetic procedure on the day of your exam (such as an MRI), please do not feed your pet any food after 10:00pm the night before your appointment. No water should be offered after 6:00am on the day of your appointment. If your appointment is scheduled in the afternoon, it is unlikely that your pet will have an MRI or any other anesthetic procedure on the same day, so please ask about the option for feeding your pet prior to your pet’s appointment. If you have a pet that is diabetic, please give food, water, and insulin as usual. If you have any further concerns regarding food, water, or medication administration, please call ahead of the date of your pet’s appointment for options. If your pet is being seen for something that is occurring episodically (e.g. tremors, seizures, collapse) which may not occur during the exam, it can be helpful for the clinician to see a video of an event. If possible, try to make a short video (30-60 sec) of the episode or event that concerns you and bring it to your appointment. Please remember to bring all of your pet’s medication to your appointment. If any x-rays have been taken of your pet, we ask that you bring those as well (originals or copies). If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please try to notify NWVS 48 hours prior to the appointment time. Our office will call to confirm you appointment 24-48 hours before the scheduled appointment day. If you have any questions, please call our office at any time. Thank you! We look forward to meeting you and your pet.
