Course Syllabus:
Welcome to Academic Intervention Services (AIS) for mathematics. The AIS program is designed
to prepare students for the state math assessments given in May and to help students achieve
success with the New York State Mathematics curriculum. I will work with students in small groups
as well as individually to fulfill the course objectives.
The Board of Regents adopted revisions to the Commissioner of Education’s regulation requiring
school districts to provide academic intervention services to students who score below New York

Assessment will be based on the students’ overall performance, class readiness, participation, and
productivity.
Homework:
There will be no homework assigned in AIS; however, students will have regularly assigned
