AGUDAS ACHIM CEMETERY INFORMATION Congregation Agudas Achim maintains two cemeteries in perpetuity. Any Jew, whether a member of the congregation or a non-member, may apply for burial rights in the Agudas Achim Cemetery, and may purchase a plot subject to the regulations found on this website. Both cemeteries are located within the city limits of Hartford, CT ZION HILL CEMETERY - This is a complex of cemeteries with several Jewish sections maintained by local associations and congregations, as well as a large non-sectarian tract maintained by the City of Hartford. The historic Agudas Achim Cemetery, with gravesites dating back to the 19th century, is located here, and is closed to new burials, with the exception of an interment in a previously-purchased plot. DIRECTIONS – The precise location of the Agudas Achim Cemetery in Zion Hill Memorial Park is that it is bordered on the west by Zion Street, on the north by Ward Street, and on the east by Affleck Street. Our section is on the Affleck Street side, but driving entrance is gained at the corner of Zion Street and Ward Street. Local visitors may call the synagogue office for driving directions. It is recommended that out-of-town visitors consult the Auto Club or MapQuest as well as calling the office. TOWER AVENUE CEMETERY - the Agudas Achim section of this large Jewish cemetery complex is located on Tower Avenue in Hartford, adjacent to Keney Park, and is now the site of the congregation's burials since the early 1930's. It has ample space to accommodate single, double and family multiple plots. DIRECTIONS – The precise location of the Agudas Achim Cemetery is on Tower Avenue between Garden Street to the east and Waverly Street to the west. The cemetery entrance is off the Cleveland Avenue extension, a small private roadway parallel to Tower Avenue, accessed via Waverly Street. Local visitors to either cemetery may call the synagogue office for driving directions. It is recommended that out-of-town visitors consult the Auto Club or MapQuest as well as calling the office.
