Learning Objectives
Students will show
1) in discussion, a better grasp of the structural and energetic aspects of Deep Massage
2) in practice, learn techniques for the lower body and develop more confidence with
doing deep massage
DM Basics - for the pelvis, thighs and lower legs
Gluteus Maximus, Hamstrings, Triceps surae (gastrocnemius and soleus),
Tensor Fasciae Latae, Gluteus medius & minimus, Rectus femoris, Iliotibial band,
Peroneus (“fibularis”) longus & brevis, Tibialis anterior

back and shoulder girdle, and
Review of anatomy of pelvis and legs class
Present: Show how DM is applied anatomy
and, through the steps of the fulcrum, applied
energy (engaging the nervous system

Adding additional vectors/3+-D touch
Holding/ being sensitive to timing
Noticing change/being observant and

Future: Next class they’ll do a bit of prep for
the internship then 59b they’ll be reviewing all
the DM for the posterior body.
Students deepen their understanding and
DM/technical applications to the pelvis and
legs. At this time, it can be presented as giving
them an option to affect the area more
thoroughly than with circulatory work

those tightened. Tighten left foot and notice
how much of you it effects. Stretching (leg and
pelvis stretches and kicks) and meditation
(grounding through hara). Discuss the feet,
legs, and pelvic floor and the root chakra:
grounding, nourishment (kidney energy),
survival, standing up for oneself; how
