Next, the teacher announces the topic of the lesson and the fact the students are going to watch a girl speaking about her family. Interaction: T- SS., SS-T Timing: 5 min. ACTIVITY 2 : Aim: to be able to speak about their daily routine and the actions taking place at the moment of speaking Procedure: 1. SS.watch and listen to a story, paying attention to the forms of the verbs in it. 2. Then, in their groups of three students, they will have to complete a worksheet with the right forms of the verbs and orally discuss about their usage Interaction: GW, SS-T Timing: 10 min. ACTIVITY 3 Aim: to revise the usage of the present simple and continuous in contrast to each other. Procedure: 1. Each student will receive a card with a sentence and a picture on it. They will have to complete with the correct form of the verbs. Some of the students will come in front of the class and mime the action they have. The other classmates have to recognize the sentence. Interaction: SS-SS Timing: 5 min. ACTIVITY 4: Aim: 1. to develop their knowledge about the usage of the two tenses by means of communicative activities: humour Procedure: 1.the students watch a humorous video and ,in pairs, try to answer some comprehension questions. Interaction: PW, SS-SS Timing : 5 min. ACTIVITY 5 ; Aim: to provide feedback on the subject of the lesson to communicate and practice the English language skills Procedure: 1.The students watch a PowerPoint presentation including some activities that usually take place as well as activities that take place at the moment of speaking. Students orally make up some sentences in the appropriate tense. Afterwards, they are handed in a worksheet. In pairs, they try to remember the names of the people performing certain activities. Interaction: T-SS, PW, SS-SS Timing: 10 min. ACTIVITY 6 (if time allows it) Aim: consolidating knowledge getting the feedback from the ss. assigning the homework Procedure: 1. The teacher will invite the 6 groups of 3 students to listen to ‘The Lemon tree’ song, performed by the Fools’ Garden band. While-listening, the students will pay attention to the forms of the verbs in the song and will complete their worksheet.The song is played again , in order to check their answers. 2. As homework, the ss. will also have to do a worksheet, to practice the acquired knowledge. 3. The very active ss. are rewarded, praised, while the less active ones are encouraged to get more involved in the future lessons Interaction: GW, SS-T, T-SS Timing: 10 min
