Vacancies for Reservoir / Production Engineering and Reservoir Development Geology professionals Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), a frontline Exploration and Production (E&P) company for over six decades, is looking for reservoir and production engineers and reservoir geologists who will be part of a multidisciplinary team working for production enhancement in existing fields and appraisal and development of new discoveries of conventional and unconventional reservoirs. The company invites applications from suitable candidates for the following positions: RESERVOIR ENGINEERING PROFESSIONALS WITH MINIMUM 9 YEARS EXPERIENCE Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or related engineering disciplines from a reputed local or foreign university. Candidates possessing Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from a reputed foreign university will be preferred. Job Profile/ Specifications: • Proficient in formulation of numerical reservoir simulation models and determining their goals, including field development plans, production and economic forecasting, reserves evaluation and uncertainty analysis • Able to carry out prospect evaluation for potential acquisition opportunities and exploration prospects • Have knowledge of unconventional reservoirs evaluation and development strategy • Capable of making recommendations on the economic feasibility of production enhancement opportunities along with new discoveries • Have knowledge of petroleum geology and formation evaluation and primary, secondary and tertiary recovery methods • Possess good knowledge of basic reservoir engineering techniques such as material balance, tank models, decline curve analysis, nodal analysis, PVT analysis and well test analysis by using industry-standard software • Liaise with development geologists to incorporate geological model into reservoir simulation model • Independently manage and/ carry out complex reservoir engineering analyses • Mentor junior reservoir engineers to improve their technical skills RESERVOIR ENGINEERING PROFESSIONALS WITH MINIMUM 7 YEARS EXPERIENCE Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or related engineering disciplines from a reputed local or foreign university. Candidates possessing Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from a reputed foreign university will be preferred. Job Profile/ Specifications: • Understanding of business and technical practices for international exploration and development • Sound knowledge and experience in reservoir development planning and performance evaluation, modelling and simulation, reserves estimation and reservoir geology, well testing, log analysis together with understanding of operations and well completion design • Experience in handling production technology issues in field development 1 • Familiarity with diverse Petroleum Engineering software • Knowledge of reserves estimation and reporting according to international standards • Lead and mentor staff • Capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects and activities • Recommend/ supervise production enhancement strategies • Formulate field development strategies • Participate in prospect evaluation for potential acquisition opportunities and exploration prospects • Possess basic knowledge of unconventional reservoirs evaluation and development strategy • Have good knowledge of basic reservoir engineering techniques, including material balance, tank models, decline curve analysis, nodal analysis, PVT analysis and well test analysis, by using standard-industry software RESERVOIR ENGINEERING PROFESSIONALS WITH MINIMUM 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or related engineering disciplines from a reputed local or foreign university. Job Profile/ Specifications: • Proficient in analyzing field production data to identify production anomalies and recommend corrective measures • Perform material balance calculations and decline curve analysis • Carry out volumetric reserves estimates and PVT studies • Prepare and supervise field-level well stimulation programmes • Possess knowledge in reservoir simulation, reserves evaluation and production forecasting • Participate in prospect evaluation for potential acquisition opportunities and exploration prospects • Have good knowledge of basic reservoir engineering techniques, including material balance, tank models, decline curve analysis, nodal analysis, PVT analysis and well test analysis, by using standard industry software RESERVOIR DEVELOPMENT GEOLOGY PROFESSIONALS WITH MINIMUM 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE Qualification: Master of Science in Geology from a reputed local or foreign university. Job Profile/ Specifications: • Perform petrophysical evaluation and hydrocarbon potential evaluation, assess well locations and undertake hydrocarbon in place estimation • Capable of constructing integrated geo-cellular models, honouring geoscience and petrophysical data, and preparing well correlations, integrated petrophysical characterization and facies modelling under supervision • Possess good working knowledge of PETREL and RMS for geological modelling 2 PRODUCTION ENGINEERING PROFESSIONALS WITH MINIMUM 7 YEARS EXPERIENCE Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or related engineering discipline from a reputed local or foreign university. Candidates possessing Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from a reputed foreign university will be preferred. Job Profile/ Specifications: • Experience in well performance analysis, well completions, work-over operations, DSTs, well stimulation and related activities • Capable of planning and supervising well intervention jobs through slick line, wire line and coiled tubing • Prepare, specify and evaluate materials requirement for well completions and wellhead surface fittings and flow lines • Have working knowledge of petroleum/ well engineering softwares, including PROSPER GAP and WELLCAT • Prepare long- and short-term budgets GENERAL: Candidates should be skilled in using computers, especially latest software, related to their area of activity. They are expected to possess initiative, innovativeness and good interpersonal skills. Maximum age limit for all above positions is 40 years. Candidates possessing engineering qualification should be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). The valid PEC registration certificate should be attached with the application. Applicants meeting the requirement of qualification and job specifications are required to appear for a written test (GAT A for Reservoir and Production Engineers and GAT C for Reservoir Geologists) conducted by NTS on 20 January, 2013.
