MPI Foundation- Donate Your Way This year your MPI Foundation must raise one million dollars just to maintain the current level of programming offered to MPI members and chapters. We are currently at 20 percent of our million dollar goal. We cannot raise the remaining 80 percent without the support of your chapter members…keeping in mind, just a dime a day investment raises $730,000, putting your Foundation at 73% of its goal! So as you can see, donations of all sizes make a significant difference to the bottom line. Of course we are not asking your chapter members to invest without allowing them to choose where they want their money to go….after all, it’s their dime! We are currently developing the “Donate Your Way” campaign to be launched November 1st. Our goal is to make it easier for members to donate by allowing them to use a credit card on line as well as allowing them to choose where to allocate their support. Individual giving investment choices will include: Research Development; Culture Active Tool; Women-Centric and Multicultural Scholarships; In Memory of _________, In Honor of _______; Chapter Grants; MPI Foundation Europe, MPI Foundation Canada and General Fund. Look for more news regarding the MPI Foundation’s “Donate Your Way” campaign in the September issue of the The Meeting Professional, Foundation Focus section, as well as from your MPI Foundation Chapter Liaison. In the mean time, please continue to distribute our current donor envelopes within your chapter…Hotel Resources is still matching all member donations, up to $10,000 through September 30th and we are honored to have PRA Destination Management matching through December 31st. Thanks again for your support and please don’t hesitate to contact Kathi Wenrich at kwenrich@mpiweb.org if you have questions, need Foundation collaterals, or just to say “Hi!” DATES TO REMEMBER October 2 Year End Financials and Taxes (US chapters only) were due October 8-12 Institutes- Dallas, Texas October 16 2005-2006 COTY submission deadline October 17 Chapter President’s Quarterly Conference Call January 1 2nd phase Education Plans due to International January 20-23 Professional Education Conference- North America New Orleans, LA SPEAKING POINTS MPI Chapter Presidents Speaking Points for October 2006 Because you are the voice for your chapter, each of these memos will provide a few MPI “good news” speaking points for you to deliver to your members.
