JUNE HORSE SHOW INFO
SWDEA HORSE SHOW RULES
1. Governing rules: USDF/USEF for dressage; and USEA for combined training and eventing.
2. Dressage classes have priority in scheduling. Riders with a conflict between jumping and
dressage are expected to be ready for their dressage ride as scheduled. We will accommodate
your jumping class and hold the jumping ring. Please notify jump ring secretary.
3. All competitors must sign a Waiver and Release prior to mounting a horse at the show location.
For all competitors under 18 years of age, the parent must sign the Waiver and Release on behalf
of the competitor. Should any person other than the parent sign the Waiver and Release, legal
documentation and/or a power of attorney must be presented to the Show Secretary specifically
stating that such person has the right to sign a Waiver and Release on behalf of the competitor.
A trainer’s signature will not be accepted without appropriate legal documentation.
4. All entry forms must be legible and fully completed. All fees must accompany entry forms.
Each entry must include a copy of a negative Coggins Test within the last twelve months for each
horse brought onto the show grounds.
5. If membership for SWDEA accompanies entries, the SWDEA member discount will be given.
Please include a separate check for membership dues. PLEASE do not include dues with entry
fees. Thank you.
6. No refunds after closing date. Should any part of the show be cancelled due to weather or
safety conditions, a reschedule date will be provided. Entry fees will not be refunded.
7. There will be a returned check charge of $35.00 on all dishonored checks.
8. SWDEA show officials shall have the right to demand any competitor or spectator to cease any
activity deemed to be dangerous, distracting or threatening the safety of a mounted competitor.
9. Riders are expected to be in control of their horses at all times. Horses that pose a danger or
distraction to competitors, horses and spectators must be ridden/warmed-up in an area where they
will cause no distraction or threat.
10. Standing and running martingales are allowed in all jumping classes.
11. All horses on the show grounds must have a rider# affixed to the horses tack at all times. Even
non-competing horses.
12. No dogs allowed.
13. Times will be e-mailed on the Thursday evening.
14. Attire: Approved safety helmets, breeches and boots are required. Coats optional – polo shirts
collared shirts are also appropriate. Safety vests strongly recommended for Cross Country.
