RECYCLING CENTER
Materials accepted:
 Corrugated cardboard & brown paper bags: MUST be broken down and flattened to save space
 Glass containers only: NO Pyrex, windows or light bulbs
 Magazines newspapers and phone books (loose, not tied up)
 Mixed paper (cereal boxes, junk mail, egg cartons) NO tissue, colored construction papers
 Used motor oil (used by recycling center for heating the building!)
 Used anti-freeze
 Plastic containers: #2 neutral (milk jugs) and #2 colored (HDPE), flattened if possible
 Tin/aluminum cans
 Packing material: styrofoam peanuts and bubble wrap
 Rechargeable batteries ONLY
 Printer cartridges (laser and ink jet)
 Cellphones

SWAP SHOP
FREE to ALL to take, but ONLY Dresden and Richmond residents for donations
 Donations MUST be clean, dry, stain-free, in VERY good condition, in bags or boxes not over 20 lbs.
Starting February 1, 2006, stickers (supplied there) must be placed on all donated bags, boxes and larger
items with the donor’s first name and phone number. This new procedure is for better quality control.
Items accepted:
 Books, clothing, dishes, household items, linens
 Games, puzzles, toys, sports equipment, and hobby materials
 Shoes and boots
 Small household appliances in good working condition
 Baby supplies, first aid supplies
NOTE: The Swap Shop can not accept TV’s, computers, stereos, typewriters and large items. You may
post notices on our bulletin board to advertise them or take to Richmond facility (more info on next page).
See Swap Shop volunteers or Recycling Center attendants if you have questions.
DRESDEN TRANSFER STATION
For Dresden Residents ONLY
Note: All materials must be in plastic or sturdy paper bags. Leaves and yard wastes are not
accepted. No pesticides, hazardous waste products, paint, etc.
A token must accompany each bag ---$1 token for up to 15 lbs.--- $2 token for up to 35 lbs.
Purchased at the Town Office or at the Transfer Station
Material accepted:
 Non-recyclables
 Plastics other than #2
 Ceramic items, glassware other than recyclable jars
 Rubber items
 Dirty or contaminated paper, styrofoam board

Open the 1st 4 weekends in April & May and the 1st & 3rd weekends June thru
November 9am-3pm (Closed December thru March)

Bulky goods: furniture, mattresses, for a fee (See attendant)
Tires: With or without rims, for a fee (See attendant)
Clean wood or brush, demolition debris (no asphalt shingles): No charge
Clean metal: No charge

Open 1st Saturday of each month from 3:30-6:30 PM, except December thru March it’s open the 1st
Saturday from 9 AM to Noon.
 TV’s, Computers & monitors, fluorescent bulbs, mercury added items (thermostats)

Open: Mondays 9:30 – 6:00 & Tuesday thru Friday 7:30 – 4:00
Accept all of the above except used motor oil and yard wastes.
You provide transportation and tipping fees.

Recommendations:
