What is a noun’s job inside of a sentence?
It is usually to be the subject in a sentence.
Sometimes it is to describe an object, person, or place
within a predicate.
What is a singular noun?

How do you make nouns plural?
By adding a suffix

In most cases, if the word ends in a consonant and an e

When a word ends in y, change the y to an i and add es

What is the difference between common and proper
nouns? Common nouns name general people, places,
things. Proper name specific people, places, and things
and start with a capital letter.

Vanderlyn, Ms. McQuade, Hotwheels, Vanderlyn Drive,
Frozen, Hour of the Olympics
What strategy can help you remember to capitalize
proper nouns?

When you don’t need to keep using the same word in a
sentence over and over again: Mike said Mike walked
Mike’s Dog./ Mike said he walked his dog.
What are the three things to consider when replacing a
noun (antecedent) with a pronoun?

How can you make nouns possessive with an
apostrophe?
Add ‘s to a singular possessive noun or s’ to a plural
possessive noun in order to show ownership
