The Costume Society of America, Northeastern Region (I) and the Lasell College Fashion Department are pleased to announce the third annual Student Research Forum. This event is for student members, non-student members, and interested students who are not currently CSA members. The forum will focus on students in New England and the Eastern Provinces who are studying some aspect of costume, textiles or fashion, or a related area. Students from all area colleges and universities in the region, both undergraduate and graduate, are welcome, and many will have the opportunity for a 10 minute presentation of their current academic work. Each presentation will be followed by 10 minutes of feedback from a panel of scholars and professionals in the field, as well as audience members, in an effort to enrich each student’s project. This forum is a valuable venue for students to discuss their work, interest and ideas in fashion, receive constructive, positive feedback and meet CSA members. Those students wishing to present should either email Ned Lazaro, CSA Northeastern Region Education Chair, or fill out the enclosed registration form and mail it with an abstract or copy of the paper. Presentations are guaranteed on a firstregistered, first-served basis, with a maximum number of 10 student presenters. The forum will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2007 from 1-5 p.m. at Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts. Light refreshments will be served. The cost of the forum is free, however registration is required for both presenters and attendees. Please fill out the registration form and return by Saturday, February 3, 2007, or email the information to lazaro@historic-deerfield.org If you are not a member of the Costume Society of America, come with questions! Members will be on hand to discuss the group’s activities and membership.
