Waldo Farms is proud to offer the following opportunity to any FFA High School
Student or Chapter, as well as any senior 4-H members.
Waldo Farms will have on display at the World Pork Expo a Sow and Litter of pigs representing one of our successful Maternal genetic lines. The purpose of this display is to showcase our maternal genetics. This sow and litter will come from one of our High Health Nucleus facilities.
We would like to award this sow and litter of pigs to any member or chapter in good standing of the FFA or 4-H who has the facilities to utilize this project.
Waldo Farms will select the recipient student/chapter based on an essay submitted to Waldo Farms by May 28, 2007. A panel of three industry personnel will review the essays and make the selection. The recipient(s) will be notified prior to June 8 th so that transportation can be arranged after WPX. The winning applicant will be required to transport this project home.
Essays should include:
─ Name, Address, Telephone Numbers, Age, Parents/Guardians Names
─ Description of the type of facilities that would house the project
─ Breeding intentions of the gilts involved
─ School Name and Address, Advisor’s Name, Grade Level, GPA
─ Future plans after High School
─ Family farming background
─ Experience in other related swine projects
This application form for the project must have the signatures of a parent as well as the FFA advisor or Club Leader
Waldo Farms will announce the winning candidate at a press conference on the
8 th of June, 2007 at our booth location in the cattle barn at the World Pork Expo.
The recipient and family members or chapter along with their FFA advisor or club leader would be requested to be in attendance for this presentation.
