"If Music Be The Food..." is a collaboration between the University of South Florida,
Carrollwood Cultural Center, Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, and Tampa Bay Harvest,
in response to reports in the news of increased need for food aid the Tampa Bay
community. This is a classical chamber music outreach, arranged by cellist and USF
music professor Scott Kluksdahl, that aligns members of the USF School of Music
faculty and student performers with guests from The Florida Orchestra, University of
Tampa, other Tampa Bay artistic institutions, and distinguished national guest artists - all
of whom join together and donate their services for these concerts. Likewise, both the
Carrollwood Cultural Center and Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church are donating the
space and staff for this outreach. Audience members are asked to bring whatever nonperishable food items or cash donations they can offer for Tampa Bay Harvest as the
price of admission. Any donation will gratefully be accepted. Every food donation and
every cash donation will go completely towards the cause of hunger in the Tampa Bay
community.
The mission of “If Music Be the Food…” is to increase awareness and support for the
hungry in our community through chamber music performances of the highest caliber.

other prominent institutions in the United States inspired by the Rochester-based
initiative.
