HOLLIDAY HS SCHOLARSHIP POSTINGS
The Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation offers the “Bingo Kinder
Endowed Scholarship”. This is a scholarship that was established 4 years
ago for graduating seniors in Archer County. We have had several students
receive generous scholarships from this foundation and I strongly recommend
that all of my students apply for this.
You can pick up the paper application or apply online at www.wfacf.org (just
designate the “Bingo Kinder” award)
Applications must be received by March 15, 2010
Sam Walton Community Scholarship: No paper applications are available. If
you are interested, please logon to www.walmartfoundation.org for more
information. The deadline is January 2010.
Texas Elks State Association has two scholarships available.
The Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship – due
January 9, 2009. Paper applications are available in my office.
Texas Elks Award – students in the top 5% can not apply for this one – due
March 2010. Paper applications are available in my office.
Micron Science and Technology Scholars Program – available for students
going into a science related field. Application due January 19th
(requirements are high for this one)
Sheppard Officers’ Spouses’ Club Scholarship Award- must be a legal
dependent of US Military personnel (active duty, retired or deceased, officer
or enlisted) Due Feb. 2010
Texas Student Housing Scholarship- for students attending college in Austin,
College Station, Denton or San Marcos. Application deadline January 31,
2010.
Santa Rosa Telephone Cooperative Scholarship: Must be a member of the
Santa Rosa telephone group (use their service). You can apply at www.frs.org
until March 1, 2010.
Burger King Scholars Program: must be a high school student with a GPA of
2.5 or higher, have a part time job (at least 15 hrs per week/40 weeks per yr),
be actively involved in community service, have financial need & are
planning to enroll in college or a tech school in the fall. Log on to
www.bk.com/scholars (access key BKS)
KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program: for students with a 2.75 GPA or higher
pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Log on to www.kfcscholars.org from Dec.1st to
Feb. 10th.
Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship – Deadline MARCH 15th
Criteria: ACT/SAT performance
Class rank and Grade Point Average
*Highly competitive program with limited awards

Criteria: ESSAY and application, 2 letters of recommendation

Criteria: SAT/ACT scores, class rank, GPA, two personal reference letters, two academic
reference letters, photograph

Ozarka Natural Spring Water Earth Science Scholarship – Deadline March 26th
Criteria: GPA of 3.0 or higher
Plans to major in the Earth/ Environmental Science field at a four year
College or university

pursuing a career in agriculture

Texas Department of Transportation Conditional Grant Program
Criteria: Plans on pursuing a career in civil engineering, computer science, or computer
information systems at a Texas four-year public college or university.

LOCAL HOLLIDAY SCHOLARSHIPS: (Local Application posted mid March)
Colby Cook “TAKE FLIGHT” Memorial Scholarship: Students who have been
involved in athletics throughout high school are eligible to apply.
ATPE Scholarships: Association of Texas Professional Educators Scholarships – local
committee decision based on application and essay. ($500 - $250 per semester)
PTO Scholarships: Parent Teacher Organization – local committee decision based on
application and essay. ($500 - $250 per semester)
Ramsey Looper Memorial Scholarship: Primary consideration for students who have
been actively involved in FFA or agricultural studies throughout high school.
Kay Lucy Theatre Department Scholarship: Given through the HHS Theatre dept. for
students who have been actively involved in the theatre program.
FCCLA Scholarship: Application through FCCLA based on involvement in the
program.
Athletic Booster Club Scholarships: For students who have been actively involved in
athletics throughout all four years of high school. (Usually given to one boy and one girl)
Holliday Band Parents Association Scholarships: Application through the band
program – based on band involvement throughout high school.
Wilma Whitehead Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to students based on application
information and financial need.
Jess Wayne Lynch Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to students based on application
information and financial need.
