High School Graduation Requirements English 4 Credits Math 4 Credits Science 3 Credits Social Studies 3 Credits CTE/Fine Art 1 Credit Electives 7 Credits Total 22 Credits Math courses shall consist of Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra II (or its equivalent) and an additional course with significant Math content as determined by district governing boards or charter boards. Science credits required in preparation for proficiency at the high school level. Social Studies shall consist of 1 credit American History, 1 credit of World History/Geography, 1/2 credit of Government and 1/2 credit of Economics. AIMS Tests: (Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards) State Statue and the State Board of Education established AIMS Writing, Reading and Math as the competency tests students must pass for graduation from an Arizona High School. First effective with the Class of 2006. For those students who do not earn a passing score on all 3 tests, there are alternative methods for meeting the graduation requirement.
