Very large fan extending east from a
gun site near intersection of Lovelace
and Target Road. This range was
used during WWII to test proximity
fuses on 5” navy rockets. The range
is littered with UXO and inerts. Triple
A Hill is heavily littered with live
ordnance, mainly from shorts or
antiaircraft fire. Additional ordnance
(see DOE-SNL/ER list, Sites 6 and 7)
include 5 in. shells, 75 mm ballistic
shells, 105 mm and 155 mm dummy
rounds, high explosive rounds, 5 in.
rocket assisted projectiles, and
hundreds of fuzes, many live. The
AAA Hill and Proio Valley have the
“...highest concentration of ordnance
per acre on base.”

A map obtained from the Munitions Rule Document pointed out two 40 MM ranges (One near the Combat Arms Pistol and Rifle Range (O-1) and one near the M-60 Firing Range (O-9))
that were not mapped or listed here; these areas were not used according to Security Forces personnel. The only area they fire 40 MM TP is on the M-60 Firing Range. No other
references were available regarding these two areas.
