Job Profile Project Manager: West Midlands Museum Partnership Purpose To manage and coordinate the West Midlands Museum Partnership (WMMP) Programme of activity, maximising Arts Council England’s (ACE) Major Partner Museum investment to build an ambitious and inspirational model of resilience for museums. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Responsibilities To oversee and manage development and delivery of the WMMP Programme activities, working closely with staff at Black Country Living Museum and Culture Coventry, to meet project objectives. To support WMMP teams to deliver the Programme Plan and its other obligations including the Audience Development, Equality Action and Environmental Impact plans, monitoring quality and performance of all activities and addressing any issues which arise. To establish, with WMMP Chief Executives, a 3-year multi-platform arts commissioning programme interpreting the museums’ collections. To support sector development through a programme of skills audits, training, workshops and a ‘Resilience and entrepreneurship’ symposium for WMMP staff and other Midlands museums. Person Specification (competencies, qualifications & experience) Essential Multiple and varied project management experience and/or significant work experience in a similar role Proven track record of sound financial management Experience of monitoring, evaluating and reporting on activities Appreciation and understanding of the aims, objectives and work of museums and/or other cultural providers To manage and report on the WMMP Programme budget. To serve, support and provide regular progress reports to the WMMP Project Board, identifying new opportunities as well as any areas of underperformance. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to motivate and lead others To ensure good communications, including facilitating networking, across the Consortium and its staff. To help develop the Programme over its 3-year duration and input into future planning as relevant. Optimum standards of presentation, attention to detail and accuracy To coordinate and prepare reports for Arts Council England (ACE), as required. Ability to manage own workload and experience of working under pressure and to deadlines To represent the Partnership at senior meetings, including with ACE, and to act as an advocate promoting its work throughout the region and UK as required.
