Bible Passages That Testify to Divine Creation, page 1 of 4 Lest it should be assumed that the doctrine of divine creation is confined to the opening verses of the Bible, the following induction of upwards of seventy-five passages—each one of which bears a direct testimony by inspiration—is presented. So interwoven, indeed, is this doctrine throughout all the Scriptures that to deny divine creation is to abandon every vestige of revelation. The end, as everywhere demonstrated, is the darkness of atheism or the negations of agnosticism. Ex. 20:11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. "Or who enclosed the sea with doors when, bursting forth, it went out from the womb; when I made a cloud its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, and I placed boundaries on it and set a bolt and doors, Ps. 8:3 consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; Ps. 19:1, 4 The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world; in them He has placed a tent for the sun, Ps. 24:1, 2 The earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. Ps. 33:6-9 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deeps in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Ps. 65:6 Who establishes the mountains by His strength, being girded with might; Ps. 74:16-17 Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun. You have established all the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter. Ps. 78:69 And He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which He has founded forever. The north and the south, You have created them; Tabor and Hermon shout for joy at Your name. Ps. 90:2 Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. Ps. 95:4, 5 In whose hand are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who made it, and His hands formed the dry land. Ps. 102:25 "Of old You founded the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. Ps. 104:2-6, 24 Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, stretching out heaven like a tent curtain. He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind; He makes the winds His messengers, flaming fire His ministers. He established the earth upon its foundations, so that it will not totter forever and ever. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters were standing above the mountains. O LORD, how (many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your possessions. Ps. 119:90 Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands. Ps. 124:8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. Ps. 136:5-9 To Him who made the heavens with skill, For His lovingkindness is everlasting; To Him who spread out the earth above the waters, For His lovingkindness is everlasting; To Him who made the great lights, For His lovingkindness is everlasting: The sun to rule by day, For His lovingkindness is everlasting, The moon and stars to rule by night, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. Ps. 148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD, for He commanded and they were created. Prov. 3:19 By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; Prov. 8:26-29 before he made the earth or its fields or any of the dust of the world. I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, when he established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep, when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth Prov. 20:12 Ears that hear and eyes that see—the LORD has made them both. Prov. 30:4 Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and the name of his son? Tell me if you know! Eccles. 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Eccles. 11:5 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed [a] in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Isa. 40:12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? Isa. 40:26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. Isa. 40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Jonah 1:9 He answered, "I am a Hebrew and I worship the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land." Zech. 12:1 This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him, declares: John 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. Acts 14:15 Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you.
