ASP Meeting Minutes February 13, 2007 Hosted by the Law School (J. Wong) Present: Dria Howlett (OUA), Frenchie Burroughs (Engineering), Sandra Rod (Social Work), Fran Vasel (Business), Shih-Wen Wu (Rackham), Laura Strozeski (Music), Cheryl Szpaichler (Education), Mark Nelson (MAIS), Meghan Lee (Art & Architecture), Antoinette Hopper (Rackham), Karen Zaruba (OBP), and Jean Wong (Law). I. Minutes: A. Minutes from October 24, 2006 meeting approved. B. Minutes from November 28, 2006 meeting were passed out to ASP members; minutes approved pending correction that MAIS will not develop a report for Crime & Conduct service indicator. II. MPathways Business: A. Update on Crime & Conduct and Service Indicator – MAIS Handout passed out with screen shots of negative Service Indicator for Crime & Conduct. Service Indicator is called “ACS Admission Conduct Stop”. R.O. will be responsible for posting this negative Service Indicator. Negative Service Indicator will override MATR action. Negative Service Indicator will not override ADMT action; Provost’s office advises that a negative service indicator needs to be checked before someone is made an ADMT to make sure it is not for Crime & Conduct. B. Discussion on Student Records “No Show” report - MAIS Report of MATRs who do not register does exist, but no one has access to it. Copy of “No Show” report handed out. Check report to see what value it has. Bring feedback as to usefulness of report back to ASP to decide if the report should be kept and who should have access to it. C. Review of Count Report spreadsheet – Final version - MAIS Handout of which program action/reasons go into which “bucket” for count reports. Mark will add CN WAPP OTHR to the Count Report spreadsheet (Inactive Applicants: Cancelled after Admit Apps, Exclude CN WAPP OTHR; Cancelled Before Decision Apps, Include CN WAPP OTHR). D. Review of Program Action/Reason combination definitions – Final version - MAIS 2/13/2007:JLW Final revisions needed (rows 50 and 51 regarding WADM OTHA and WADM OTHR need to be corrected) Page 1 of 2 E. Review of Revised SA01 repository reports - MAIS RM #1055 Applicant Admissions Status by Academic Career and Program. -suggestion to have columns switched to the following sequence: Citizen VISA Res. State Sex Ethnicity. RM #1062 Application Date Report by Academic Career RM #1104 Status Roster by Career and Program -Maximum of 3 schools are pulled, starting with the most recent school. -Clearer column heading for TOEFL test score is needed. RM #1111 Undergraduate Status Roster by Career and Program -handout unclear; copy of original report not provided for comparison. RM #1107 In progress: Multi Tabbed Count Report -report breakdowns can be horizontal or vertical; preference is vertical. -discussion regarding how the various categories add up. Request made to have visuals added to the reports – pie chart? percentages? F. Extended Hours and impact to DW data – MAIS SA01 is refreshed nightly at 7pm. Any changes made in Pathways after 7pm will not show up in SA01 until after the following night’s refresh. G. Possible Ethnicity Changes – MAIS Under discussion is the splitting of the Asian/Asian Pacific Islander ethnicity category into 2 separate categories, with Asian Pacific Islander being having its own category. Change could impact application design. H. Web App Status issue – Education Transfer apps are not showing their transcript received status correctly for UM students; Dria and Cheryl to talk with each other about this.
