This Application for Membership of ISTA conforms with Article 4 (c), (d), (e), (f) and (g), as well as Article 5 (d), (e) and (f),
Article 6, 7 and 18(e)(2) of The Articles of the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA).

Membership subscription fees cover one financial year of the Association, which is from January 1 st to December 31st.
The membership fees are payable by January 1 st of the membership year concerned. Additional fees will be applied in cases
of late payment.

Application for ISTA Laboratory Membership
A Member Laboratory is a laboratory engaged in the testing of seed. A Member Laboratory supports the Association and its
objectives and is admitted by the Association.
The Member Laboratory can participate in the ISTA Proficiency Test Programme at no cost, and once accredited by ISTA,
be authorised to issue ISTA International Seed Analysis Certificates.
Once admitted as a member, the Member Laboratory is entitled to free online multi-user access to the 'International Rules
for Seed Testing', and a free online institutional subscription to 'Seed Science and Technology'. ISTA Handbooks and
proceedings published after approval and the magazine ‘Seed Testing International’. Additional ISTA publications can be
purchased at the member’s discounted price.
A Member Laboratory membership also includes membership of one Personal Member (Laboratory Representative),
whose postal address has to be the same as that of the laboratory. A Member Laboratory nominates the Personal Member
to be its representative in the affairs of the Association. The Personal Member (Laboratory Representative) may be
designated as a Designated Member by the Designated Authority of the Country/Distinct Economy, and be authorised to
exercise the Country/Distinct Economy’s voting right on behalf of its Government at ISTA Ordinary General Meetings.
All staff members of the Member Laboratory are not subjected to page charges for publishing in the journal ‘Seed Science
and Technology’, receive priority for any ISTA event and can benefit from the discounted membership registration fees for
ISTA Congresses, Annual Meetings, Symposia and Workshops.

Application for ISTA Personal Membership
A Personal Member is a person engaged in the science and practice of seed testing or in the technical control of such
activities and who supports the Association and its objectives and is admitted by the Association.
A Personal Member is entitled to free online single-user access to the 'International Rules for Seed Testing', and a free
online single-user subscription to 'Seed Science and Technology'. ISTA Handbooks and proceedings that are published
after approval as member and the magazine ‘Seed Testing International’. Additional ISTA publications can be purchased at
the member’s discounted price.
A Personal Member is not subjected to page charges for publishing in the journal ‘Seed Science and Technology’, receives
priority at any ISTA event and can benefit from the discounted membership registration fees for ISTA Congresses, Annual
Meetings, Symposia, Workshops and ISTA Publications.
A Personal Member may be designated as a Designated Member by the Designated Authority of the Country/Distinct

Application for ISTA Associate Membership
An Associate Member is a person who is not a Personal Member, but who supports the Association and its objectives, and
is admitted by the Association.
An Associate Member receives the magazine ‘Seed Testing International’ and has priority for membership of an ISTA
Technical Committee over individuals who are not ISTA Members.
An Associate Member can purchase the ISTA Handbooks, proceedings, and single-user online access to the 'International
Rules for Seed Testing' at the reduced membership price, is not subjected to page charges for publishing in the journal
‘Seed Science and Technology’, and can benefit from the discounted membership registration fees for ISTA Congresses,
Annual Meetings, Symposia and Workshops.
An Associate Member cannot become a Designated Member and therefore cannot vote at ISTA Meetings.
