Media Alert For Immediate Release: December 8, 2004 Contact: Julie Hajdusek, 732-872-0111 LOCAL MAYOR AND BROWNIE TROOP HELP TO PROTECT THE OCEAN WHO: Sandy Hook Mayor Sally Freyan and girls (ages 8-10) from Brownie Troop 420 of Sandy Hook, New Jersey WHAT: Volunteers will join the Mayor of Sandy Hook to paint messages on storm drains in the town. The messages ask people not to dump any material in the storm drain. Storm drains carry pollution and litter from city streets to the ocean, dirtying our water and beaches and threatening marine life. WHEN: Saturday, December 18, 2004 from 10:00am – 12:00pm WHERE: Meet at Lot A on Hartshorne Rd; volunteers will paint storm drains at multiple locations along Hartshorne Road between Parking Lot A and Parking Lot E PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES: Dirty storm drains, clean storm drains with anti-pollution message, local children and Mayor painting storm drains, ocean and bay visible from stenciling locations ###
