SUMMARY: Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment, buildings, and
appliances requiring practical skill and knowledge in areas to include but not limited to such
as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Participation in range/target
cleaning, clearing and rebuilding activities.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years experience as a
general maintenance worker, acquired through training and/or experience under a formal
apprenticeship or equivalent. Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license and the capability to
obtain and retain a security clearance as determined by the customer. Must have the OSHA
10 Construction Training. Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing
job functions, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, ability to be punctual, and
posses patience to work under stressful conditions. Ability to identify areas requiring
immediate attention and apply comprehensive technical knowledge and practical skill to solve
complex problems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with minimal supervision and guidance. Respond to Service Calls/PMIs within the
allowable time frame. Participation in Quality Control and Safety Program. Must adhere to
the Lockout/Tagout Program. Perform daily checks on company provided vehicle. Able to
decipher and repair minor electrical problems. Work involves a variety of duties: Connects
appliance to power source. Examines appliance during operating cycle to detect faults.
Disassembles appliances and examines mechanical and electrical parts. Calibrates timers,
thermostats and adjust contact points. Cleans and washes parts, using wire brush, buffer,
and solvent to remove carbon, grease and dust. Replaces worn or defective parts, such as
switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring.
Repairs and adjusts appliance motors. Reassembles appliance, adjusts pulleys and
lubricates moving parts, using hand tools and lubricating equipment. Replacing electrical
receptacles, wires switches, fixtures, and motors. Using plasters or compounds to patch
minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings. Also includes prepping for painters, i.e. taking
fixtures down, laying paper, cleaning up. Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and
toilets. Minor painting structures and equipment. Repairing replacing concrete floors,
steps, and sidewalks. Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles. Hanging doors or

installing door locks. Replacing broken windowpanes. Perform general maintenance on
equipment and machinery. Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations; level grounds using
pick, shovel, tamper and rake; shovels concrete; cleans culverts and ditches. Moves and
arranges heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment and appliances.
General Maintenance Workers will be assisting carpenters with the construction of various
types of targets and target complexes on the bombing and gunnery ranges and will assist
in the clean-up of target areas after EOD personnel release them which includes assisting
in sweep line operations, and driving trucks with scrap to the holding areas. Perform other
work related duties as assigned by supervisor.
