



Research

Initiated and successfully conducted state-wide electronic survey of compensation and benefits in Vermont’s

management services to mission driven ventures. Specialize in organization development, executive transition, longand short-term strategic action planning, qualitative and quantitative research and board development. Consulting in
Vermont and Internationally.
1998 - 2006
Executive Director, Vermont Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations (VANPO), Burlington, VT
Founding executive director of Vermont’s nonprofit alliance and support center organized to increase the influence and
organizational capacity of nonprofit organizations through collaboration, education, and advocacy.



1997 - 1998
Lobbied legislators in support of bills positively affecting the nonprofit sector, and provided training and
other opportunities for nonprofit advocates to do the same.
Developed and implemented an extensive training curriculum on all facets of nonprofit management and
leadership development.
Responsible for all administrative and financial operations of organization, including budget development,
accounts receivable and payable and grants management. Successfully secured funds to support
programming and staff.
Interim Executive Director, Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, Burlington, VT
Provided supervision and direction as interim executive director to the staff of a business trade association providing
services to Vermont business owners through coordination of advocacy and legislative lobbying, educational
conferences and workshops, networking and referral opportunities, and peer-to-peer discussion groups.

Responsible for all operations in $10 million private nonprofit behavioral health care agency providing intensive
mental health treatment services to children, adolescents and their families. Started four new treatment programs
across the state during my tenure, which involved locating suitable facilities, lease negotiation, space fit-up as well as
project budget negotiation with Agencies of the State of Vermont. Responsible for overall budget management.

Strategic Action Planning Consultant. Project Harmony, Waitesfield, Vermont

Fill requirements of USAID funded professional exchange by leading groups through a
planning process. Individuals create a short-term plan to implement when they return to
work. Groups I have trained are from: Moldova, Belarus and Georgia.

Hired to conduct training and lead organization development assessment.

Conducted intensive 6-day professional training on organization development practice
and assessment to Afghan NGO employees – part of a 2-person team.
