We are looking forward to the opportunity to gather to celebrate the accomplishments of 2010-11, launch our 50th anniversary celebrations, benefit from professional development and build on our strengths as we plan for the future. Canadian Interuniversity Sport’s regulations require that a letter indicating the two delegates and alternates be submitted to the CIS Office by the President of each member university. The 2011 Annual General Meeting will be held from June 7-9, at Victoria, BC. In order for a member university to have two (2) votes the following regulation applies: "If two persons are appointed as delegates, one shall be male and one shall be female, and each shall have one vote." Therefore, if a member institution appoints one person as delegate to the General Assembly, that delegate shall have only one vote, or if both delegates are the same gender that member shall have only one vote. Call for Nominations: Deadline May 9 In accordance with By-law 3.4.2.1.1, CIS is hereby requesting nominations for the positions of Vice President Research and Development; and Vice President Marketing. Please use the attached form. Nominations must contain the names of the nominator and seconder, the written consent of the nominee, as well as a brief biography of the candidate. Nominations must be received no later than May 9, 2011 4:30 PM EST. CIS By-laws: If there is only one nomination received for a vacant position, then the person nominated shall be deemed to be elected to the position. If there is more than one nomination received, an election shall be held at the AGM. If no complete nominations are received at least thirty (30) days before the AGM, then nominations for a vacant position may be made by any Member up to twenty-four (24) hours prior to the time set out in the agenda for the election of the officers at the AGM.
