National Office of Friends of the Children Job Posting Program Associate Status: Part-time General Description The Program Associate will provide program and administrative support to the National Executive Director and the National Office of Friends of the Children, a pioneering long-term mentoring program for vulnerable children, with seven chapters across the country. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the National Executive Director, the Program Associate will support staff in assisting in carrying out program and administrative related duties; maintaining a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of program staff. Provide general office support to the Philadelphia and Portland, Oregon locations Manage communications, travel, meeting logistics and scheduling Assist with grant writing and development activities, research and evaluation assignments Use creative judgment on communications materials, able to produce copy that needs minimal editing Assist with organization for the leadership team Update the Web site routinely with timely and current information. Write brief summary reports and chapter updates Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required: High level of resourcefulness and initiative. Curiosity on how to improve current systems and introduce new ideas. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates a positive attitude with all contacts. Comfortable with ambiguity, a self starter, entrepreneurial Very organized and the ability to help organize others Consistently demonstrates excellent judgment, tact and problem solving skills. Must have good typing skills, proficient with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, creating labels including mail merge and table functions in Word and charting in Excel, as well as various Internet programs. Able to operate standard office equipment, fax, postage meter, overnight mail Salary commensurate with experience. Education and Experience Required Minimum of college degree and at least three years of related work experience or associate degree and 5-7 years of related experience.
