Minutes of the Council of Management Meeting held at Priory Barn
Thursday March 13th 2014, 7.30pm
PRESENT: Mr D. Moss (Chairman); Mr J. Carter, Mr S Khatri, Mr S. Relph, Mrs P. Rolph, Mr R Ross, Mr B Wilson,
Mr R. Worlidge
1. APOLOGIES:

2. MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF FEBRUARY 13th 2014:signed as correct
3. MATTERS ARISING: The Riverside e-mails circulated. Architects to meet members of CoM. SK suggested
that the plans go on-line

4. CHAIRMAN’S ANNOUNCEMENTS: Invitation from Fitzmaurice School to attend a table tennis tournament.
SK and SR volunteered
Traffic Survey No further news. SR reported it should be available at the end of the month

detailed exposition to be displayed in Lamb Yard
5. TREASURER’S REPORT:
Rob Quartley to do valuations.

6. HEALTH & SAFETY: Accident book needed for Tithe Barn; PR to supply; SR to keep

Caretaker for Priory Barn should have access to that accident book, which will be located in the upstairs cupboard. JC
pointed out that the Trust has a duty to see contractors’ insurances
7. LEAN-TO, TITHE BARN & ORCHARD:
Lean-to: A removable ramp is needed because of the slope.
Tiles and stone have arrived; Chowles’s are delighted with the window
The 3rd version of the HLF application is in hand. Will have a strong emphasis on outreach
Tithe Barn:
EH have signed agreement. RR requires purchase order number
RW proposed vote of thanks to DM, JC and SR
Tithe Barn Charges:
£250 a day subject to negotiation, plus charges for extra services. To be advertised at
TIC
Orchard: Bills for trees circulated to donors. SR detailed arrangements for the Planting Day on March 23 rd. SK to
enquire of Fitzmaurice about a Governor being involved; SR to inform RR of arrival of notice board; Gazebo from RW
to be erected on the Saturday

8. 50th ANNIVERSARY: E-mail from Andrew Rolph circulated. RR warned that quotes obtained for boards should
be recorded even if not pursued further. All were asked to think on ‘The Trust Today’, and SK will think on ‘The
Future’

9. WILTSHIRE CORE STRATEGY and NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN: BW reported that the housing allocation to
2026 had been raised from 510 to 595. The Neighbourhood Plan should be a mechanism for this.
10. LETTER TO JANE SCOTT: JF circulated a proposed letter to Jane Scott concerning the state of planning in
Bradford. It was agreed that: an emphasis is needed on special cases and that there was a need to meet new
planning officers. It was also suggested that Gwen Allison be involved, and that Duncan Hames be asked to write on
the matter. DM to write to JF

11. PRIORY and WEST BARN CONDITIONS:
circulated and agreed, subject to a small adjustment in the last
paragraph. RR suggested that sample insurance should be available
12. OFFICE EQUIPMENT: AW to e-mail members asking if anyone has a spare lap top to give the Trust.

Patrick Scarborough wished to write to all major donors to the West Barn telling
