PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Superannuated from the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of MECON
Ltd., schedule ‘A’ design, engineering & consultancy organization under Ministry
of Steel, Govt. of India on 31st July, 2013.
Was Holding additional charge of Managing Director of Metallurgical &
Engineering Consultants (Nigeria) Ltd., a joint venture company formed by
MECON Limited with Delta Steel Plant, Ajaokuta Steel Plant and Nigerian
Partners.
In the capacity as CMD, I was providing leadership for a large number of steel
projects like expansion of steel plants of SAIL and RINL, new Greenfield state of
art integrated steel plant of 3.0 MT capacity being set up by NMDC at Chattisgarh
and plants being installed by private entrepreneurs. Provided leadership to the
team in obtaining the Engineering and Project Management consultancy
assignment from NMDC for their 3MT Integrated Steel Plant at Nagarnar,
Chattisgarh.
In past one year, due to my personal indulgence in guiding the marketing efforts
followed by my
visit, MECON could get an assignment from overseas for
providing engineering services in the area of Blast Furnace Complex from PT
Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk., Indonesia and preparation of Comprehensive
Project Report for Steel Plant / Power Plant / Technology Park for Nigerian
client. .
Before taking over as CMD, I was holding the post of Director (Engineering) and
was responsible for all SAIL Plants Modernization & Expansion, and various
New Greenfield / brown field Steel Projects both in Public & Private Sectors as
well as technological up-gradation in MECON. .

Has illustrious career spanning over 36 Years of outstanding contribution in the
field of design, consultancy, technology evaluation, process selection and
optimization in iron and steel, energy audit, marketing in the area of oil & gas and
infrastructure, Project Management.
I was actively involved in planning and recruitment of young and experienced
engineers and other professionals to take care of timely succession planning.
Under my
leadership focused initiatives have been taken in the area of
Competency Mapping and its linkage with training and development plan of
employees. MECON being a knowledge based organization, I have emphasized
on evolving Knowledge Management System and same is in place. This has
resulted in IT enabled E-Archive System which is now a depository of more than
fifty thousand documents (engineering drawings, technical specifications etc.).
Contribution in the area of sustainable development
Being a premier consultancy organization, I had always been advocating and
influencing the technical groups to provide engineering solutions to clients
keeping in mind optimisation of resources and energy. It has culminated into
preparation of Sustainable Development Policy Objectives which stresses that
MECON will strive to contribute for the sustainable growth of country’s economy
while simultaneously working on and maintaining social and environmental
sustainability. MECON’s Sustainable Development Policy and Plans were
approved by the Board of Directors on 13th March, 2012 under my
chairmanship.
Impact on social welfare
MECON, under my guidance laid
greater importance on Corporate Social
