The Organisers will not accept any liability for any injury, loss or damage to any competitor or his/her
pony, whatsoever or howsoever caused, including the negligence of the organisers, their servants or
agents. All vehicles are parked at the risk of the owners and the organisers will not be liable for and
damage thereto, howsoever caused, including the negligence of the organisers, their servants or agents.
Objections, which may only be lodged by the owner or their authorised representative must be handed
to the Secretary, in writing, within 15 minutes of the incident and must be accompanied by a deposit of
£20, returnable if the Objection is sustained.
1. No entry fee will be accepted unless accompanied by the correct entry fee. The organisers reserve
the right to limit entries and refuse entry to an exhibitor without giving a reason.
2. The judge's decision is final.
3. Exhibitors must be appropriately dressed at all times while in the ring including the wearing of a
hat, cap or headscarf. (No jeans)
4. Whips or canes must not exceed 30".
5. Numbers will be sent before to exhibitors before the day of the show. All competitors are
strongly advised to carry adequate third party insurance cover, usually included in household
policy.
6. The show will be run under the rules of the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society. Ponies entered
must be registered with the S.P.S.B.S.
7. All stallions four years old or over must possess a S.P.S.B.S. or Ministry Licence. Colts 3 years
and over must be suitably bitted. Children showing colts or stallions must be 14 years old or
over.
Stallions aged four years or over must hold either a Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society Licence or
a Ministry of Agriculture Licence.
8. Three year old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown. All foals must be a minimum of three
weeks old on the day of the Show.
9. There must be no colts or stallions in Young Handlers classes. Children under 14 yrs old may not
show colts (excluding foals) or stallions in In-hand classes. Children under 12 yrs old may not
show stallions in ridden classes. In the interests of safety, hard hats must be worn by all handlers
aged 14 yrs or under in In-hand classes.
10. Hard hats must be worn by all exhibitors, irrespective of age, in ridden classes. In Ridden
Classes, if a rider falls off at any time whilst in the Ring, both pony and rider must leave the ring,
rider dismounted, and take no further part.
11. Exhibitors must be aware that a Judge may not place in a class a pony, which to his/her
knowledge has been bred, sold, leased or produced by the Judge or his/her immediate family or
employer; nor may he/she place a pony in which he/she has a financial interest; nor may he/she
place a stallion by whom he/she has had a mare stinted in that season.
12. All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Competitors are asked to clear up after themselves
and their ponies. Please take all rubbish and horse box contents away with you.
Note. Any Pony may be measured on the day (in the event of an objection, see
rules) for the purpose of this show and its classes result of measurement must be
accepted on the day (unless JMB certificate produced held)
