This allows us to establish baseline information and catch small problems before they become bigger problems. The entire staff at AHO performs annual bloodwork evaluations on their own pets. Consider this: 10% of pets that appear healthy to owners and veterinarians at annual checkups are found to have hidden diseases. The goal of our early detection program is simple. We want to keep your pet healthy and happy. It’s the best way for you to share many rewarding years with your pet. What does it include? A complete blood chemistry will show us if there are any early signs of kidney and liver disease, infection, certain types of cancer, diabetes, intestinal disorders or hypothyroidism. 2. A complete blood count will show us if there are any signs of inflammation or infection, leukemia, poor blood clotting, or anemia. It is important to make sure that your pets’ white and red blood cell and platelet counts are normal. 3. A urinalysis is a very important means of evaluating overall kidney function. It is also a key test for determining if there is a urinary tract infection or inflammation in the bladder. It will also confirm if your pet has diabetes. When can we run these tests? We can collect our samples at today’s visit and have results to you usually within 24 hours. How much does the Adult Wellness Program cost?
