Judge/Executive Harry L. Berry called the Hardin County Fiscal Court Meeting to order
and requested a roll call vote. Voting: King yes, Brandenburg yes, Hay yes, Judge Berry yes.
The invocation was given by Deputy Judge/Executive Steve Smith.
Commissioner Brandenburg led the court in the pledge of allegiance.
Chris Shaw, Commonwealth Attorney, presented an update on the Rocket- Docket.
Dr. William Lee, Hardin County Coroner, presented the Coroner’s July Report.
Hardin County Sheriff, Charles Williams, presented the Sheriff’s report through July.
Kenneth L. Tabb, Hardin County Clerk, presented the County Clerk’s July Report.
King moved and Hay seconded to approve the Mechanical/Plumbing Construction bid to
Schardein for $1,601,535 for Hardin Memorial Hospital Ring Road Medical Plaza. Voting:
Brandenburg yes, Hay yes, Judge Berry yes, King yes.
Donn Kidd, Deicks Block and Supply, appeared before the court because his company
was shut out by the contractor due to the brick not meeting the specifications. He stated that his
bid was much lower then what was selected.
Hay moved and Brandenburg seconded to approve First Reading of Amendment No. 2 to
Ordinance No. 161, Series 2000, to pay additional fees and costs for the purpose of paying
expenses at the Hardin County Justice Center. Voting: Hay yes, Judge Berry yes, King yes,
Brandenburg yes.
Brandenburg moved and Hay seconded to approve landfill engineering support contracts
with Tetra Tech for General Consulting (Solid Waste Engineering Services) (Work Order #12),
Environmental Monitoring (Evaluation and Testing) (Work Order #13), Drainage Improvements
Project CQA (Work Order #14). Voting: Judge Berry yes, King yes, Brandenburg yes, Hay yes.
King moved and Hay seconded to approve Resources and Emergency Services
Committee’s recommendation of $70,000 to Central Hardin Fire Department. Voting: King yes,
Brandenburg yes, Hay yes, Judge Berry yes.
King moved and Hay seconded to approve purchase of Detention Center Van at state
contract price. Voting: Brandenburg yes, Hay yes, Judge Berry yes, King yes.
Hay moved and King seconded to approve Engineering, Planning and Public Works
Committee’s recommendation. Voting: Hay yes, Judge Berry yes, King yes, Brandenburg yes.
Hay moved and Brandenburg seconded to approve Resolution No. 2007-086 relating to
Road Department Personnel (Marlin Hash). Voting: Judge Berry yes, King yes, Brandenburg
yes, Hay yes.
King moved and Brandenburg seconded to approve Resolution No. 2007-087 relating to
EMS Personnel (Derek Waters, Stephanie Carroll, Mark Peterson, Andrew Shumate, James
Mudd, Terry Reeves, Jeanna Devers, Karla Hoosier, Michael Savage, Robert T. Druin, and
Cindy Thomas). Voting: King yes, Brandenburg yes, Hay yes, Judge Berry yes.
King moved and Brandenburg seconded to approve Dead Animal Grant #07DA-1035
between Hardin County and Department of Agriculture. Voting: Brandenburg yes, Hay yes,
Judge Berry yes, King yes.
Brandenburg moved and Hay seconded to approve MOU with Kentucky Office of
Homeland Security for KyWINS Messenger. Voting: Hay yes, Judge Berry yes, King yes,
Brandenburg yes.
Brandenburg moved and Hay seconded to approve Consent Agenda to include approving
payroll with payroll liability checks dated 08/24/07 and recurring expenses, approve Claims
Batch No. 02-8028, and approve Resolution No. 2007-085 relating to budget, cash, Interfund
transfers and Treasurer to create and maintain appropriation codes, approve Hardin County
Detention Center’s July 2007 report, approve Fiscal Court Minutes dated 08/07/07 and 08/14/07.
Voting: Judge Berry yes, King yes, Brandenburg yes, Hay yes.
Judge Berry recommended that the court consider proceeding on a smaller scale the
recycling project that had been rejected by the state in an earlier grant request.
Jailer Lawson reported that the Farmer’s Market Project is moving along and the
projected date of operation will be May 01, 2008.
