Lake Forest High School Senior Calendar Class of 2015

All Quarterly Exams take place during regular scheduled class times listed below:

May 21, 2015: Periods B3 & B4 Quarterly Exams– Full Attendance Day

May 22, 2015: Periods A3 & A4 Quarterly Exams – Full Attendance Day

May 26, 2015: Period B1 & B2 Quarterly Exams – Seniors Dismissed

May 27, 2015: Period A1 & A2 Quarterly Exams – Cap & Gown Distribution @ 10:40 am
Senior BBQ following with DJ, Photo Booth, and activities. Full Attendance Day

May 27, 2015: Final Attendance Day for Seniors

May 27, 2015: All Previous Debts and Obligations Must be PAID (New debts need to be paid by 6/1/15)
This includes class dues.

May 28, 2015: Last Day to Make Up Exams if an excused absence. – Make arrangements with teachers as
soon as you can. Grades are due so all exams need to be completed by this date.

May 29, 2015: Principal will notify parents of students who fail to meet graduation requirements and those
giving honor speeches

June 1, 2015:
Mandatory Graduation practice, 8:00 am – Noon (report to auditorium).

June 2, 2015:
Mandatory Graduation Practice, 8:00 am -12:30 pm (report to the auditorium)- Ticket
Distribution

June 3, 2015:
Senior Awards, Mandatory – Students are to report at 4:15 pm for dinner. The 2015 Class
picture will be taken prior to Awards Ceremony. Be in the Gym in cap and gown by 5:15pm.
Family members may attend the awards program which starts promptly at 6:00 pm.

June 4, 2015:
Baccalaureate Service, 6:00 pm – Auditorium – Refreshments afterwards in the Cafeteria

June 5, 2015:
Commencement, 6:00 pm (Rain or Shine) –Students are to arrive no later than 5:00 pm.
Students will receive 4 tickets for track and auditorium seating. Tickets are required for
track level or auditorium seating only. Stadium/cafeteria seating is available to other guests
and the public on a First Come First Serve basis.
SENIORS MUST:
See Ms. Reed, Mr. Pickett or Mrs. Crouse if there are any issues related to the following instructions.
Attend the Senior Awards program in order to participate in commencement.
Attend all graduation practices and be on time for each in order to participate in commencement. It is your
responsibility to notify employers and/or change appointments.
Be on their best behavior. The Dress Code is in effect. Observe all discipline policies during all practices and the
awards program. Failure to cooperate will result in non-participation in commencement.
Be aware that individual pictures will be taken by a professional photographer as your diploma is handed to you.
Picture information is in the graduation packet you pick up in the gym after the ceremony. Please follow all
instructions for ordering pictures on the enclosed flyer.
Do Not bring children/friends to the graduation practices.
Understand that if you do not have transportation to school for practices, please ride the school bus. Understand that
on graduation day, someone will be in the building should a problem arise. Call 284-9291 extension 602 or 603 if
you have a problem with transportation.
PROPER ATTIRE FOR AWARDS CEREMONY & COMMENCEMENT
Check your cap and gown when you receive it. Check your gown for proper length. See Ms. Reed or Mrs. Crouse if
there is a problem. The gown must be ironed. Only use a warm (not hot) iron.
Honor students must pick up an honor stole and tassel.
Tassels are worn on the right. Caps will be worn flat, not at an angle! Girls will need white bobby pins to hold their
caps.
Girls must wear a conservative white dress or white slacks, white blouse, and white shoes. The outfit may not have
color patterns in it. If you have questions, please see the advisors. NO flip flops or sneakers. If your dress attire is
deemed inappropriate, you will not participate in commencement.
Boys must wear a white shirt, tie, Khaki pants, and black or brown shoes. Do not wear shorts! NO flip flops or
sneakers. If your dress attire is deemed inappropriate, you will not participate in commencement.
Students may not wear sunglasses while on the platform. This includes both the awards program and graduation.
Students may not decorate their caps, gowns or person. You may wear small earrings or none at all. You may only
carry the single flower given to you by the advisors.
Do not chew gum.
Commencement activities are formal events. Act and dress appropriately!
