*ECOPROFIT is an acronym of ECOlogical PROject For Integrated environmental Technology. This programme
was established by City of Graz, Austria in 1991 for the sustainable development of industries/organizations. It’s
a win-win model that tends to strengthen companies economically by using environment-friendly technologies
and simultaneously improving the ecological situation of the industries and region.
Programme establish a fully capable team of company representative that is gradually trained on topics of
cleaner production and preventive environmental approach where at the end of the programme it is ensured that
participating companies not only utilizes their resources (raw materials, production streams, energy, water,
waste water, logistics, creativity etc.,) optimally but also minimizing the waste in different streams to identify
such options that would be money/resource saving on one hand and will reduce environmental impact on the
other and hence making ECO+PROFIT (Environmental + Economic) to the industry. Consequently, at the end
of programme, one can expect a sustainable force to be in place at each participating company that
would work on environmental programme and performances without external assistance.
