Cees Oudejans is Head of the Molecular Biology Laboratory at the Department of Clinical
Chemistry After graduating in Medicine, he specialized in molecular biology (PhD cum laude)
followed by a postdoctoral training at Yale University, New Haven, USA He was appointed head
of the new molecular biology lab in 1991 Since 2011 he is professor at the VU University
Medical Center His scientific focus in on human pregnancy, which by the vascular and
(epi)genetic features underlying placentation is a scientific in-vivo model par excellence with
diagnostic and translational spin-off to many diseases including adult diseases
