Documentaries with commentary on leading chemists of the world, and their presentation in various colleges of Pakistan in general and Sindh particular via Multimedia. Three documentaries i.e. Pakistani leading Chemists, Muslim leading Chemists, and World Leading Chemists are under processing. These documentaries will highlight the achievements of chemists and will be pictures based. The documentaries will be released on January 15, 2011 by Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Vice President (Sindh Chapter) The Chemical Society of Pakistan at Video-conferencing Hall, L. E. J. Chemistry Week by Punjab Chapter of The Chemical Society of Pakistan by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amin, Member, Executive Council, The Chemical Society of Pakistan (Punjab Chapter) will organize the following activities. Monday, 24th to Friday 28th January be the start of this endeavor. Day one and two:- One - day seminars comprising lectures on the importance of chemistry and its allied sciences, e.g, bio-,pharmaceuticals-, applied-, industrial-, textile-, agricultural-, food-, and environmental – chemistry. Teachers will deliver these lectures on the role of chemistry as a central science – and its application to every day life in this world. Level and venue: Lectures of the level of secondary education, graduate degree, M. Sc. & M. Phil will be delivered at various high schools, colleges, and universities and big cities in Punjab. Day three: One day workshop in which portable lab instruments, equipment and chemistry analyzers and their use will be demonstrated. Day-four: Exhibition and experiments for students and general public. Day Five: Display of literature on chemical sciences. In one institute, a five hours time is already been borrowed from the administration for one day only per week. Other such weeks will be celebrated accordingly during the year 2011. Efforts will be made to group together two or three institutes.
