The advanced search page offers more options to conduct product searches.
[Show search type menu pulldown and select competitor product number option]
In addition to the product number, name, CAS number and MDL number, you can search by
competitor stock number. Our competitor stock number search will search over Aldrich, Acros,
Strem, TCI and Oakwood stock numbers and will find results when we have a documented
match.
[Show a competitor stock search, e.g. 10226]
You can see this type of search can result in multiple hits because different suppliers can have
similar stock numbers.
[Highlight Exact match option]
You can also conduct an exact match search on the Advanced Search page. The number of
results per page defaults to 50, but 25 and 100 can also be selected.
[select results per page pull down]
[Scroll down to other search option graphics – click on Substructure Search]
For chemists who want to search by molecular structure or substructure, the Substructure Search
offers a basic drawi and search package.
[Draw a structure, eg. Anthracene and click Exact Search]
You can search by the exact structure you’ve drawn,
Or you can search by substructure to get a broader set of results of any products containing the
drawn molecule as a substructure.
[Go back to drawing tool and select Substructure Search]
[Back to Advanced Search and click Alpha Index]
The Alphabetical Index lists all products in alphabetical sequence. You can select a letter and
then a range within that letter.
[Show link to a letter and then a range]
The alphabetical index includes cross reference entries as well.
Most users will not choose to search for products this way but the Alphabetical Index serves as a
useful way to get all of our products and CAS numbers indexed by search engines such as
Google.
[Click the Element Search graphic]
Clicking the Element search takes you to a periodic table, from which you can select an element.
[Click an element, e.g. Vanadium]
Clicking one of the elements takes you to a cover page for the element. You can review physical
properties and facts about the element on the lower part of the page. On the upper part of the
page, drill down options are listed by product categories for the element. The various elemental
forms are listed first, followed by Compounds and Alloys.
[Click on Vanadium Slug]
[Back to Advanced Search – Click on Platinum Labware Search]
The platinum labware search is a stand-alone search module with menus allowing the user to drill
down to product offerings and add item specifications to a bulk quote request.
[Click Standard Evaporation Dishes, then Dishes, Round Base ]
Starting with the larger category, the user selects their preferences until they get to the individual
selection of their choice.
