Assignment - Create a Travel guide to a biome! Brochure
Pick any land or aquatic biome
1. Introduction – Create a travel agency (ex. Mr. D’s Super Expensive Getaway Travel)
 Why should I travel to this biome? Brief description (Think of a travel guide and convince
people to visit)
2. Description of biome
 Local climate, temperature, and seasons
 Map of biome in the world – include latitude
 Precipitation – types and amounts
 Topography – land/soil and vegetation characteristics
 Natural Resources – supplies found in biome (ex. oil, lumber, gold)
 Organism diversity – describe plants and animals found in biome
 Famous location – a popular or well known biome location
3. Bibliography and Sources section
 Provide at least two websites on your biome
 Provide a list of magazine articles or books used for your project
Brochure rubric (25 points)
o 3 points - Typed or neatly written introduction
o 14 points - Typed or neatly written description of biome including each bullet point
o 2 points - Map showing locations of the biome
o 4 points - Pictures, graphs, charts, and/or tables that relate to your biome brochure
o 2 points - Sources section
