Observation and Surveillance Stabilized Payloads
Elop’s stabilized electro-optical payloads provide optimal observation,
surveillance, tracking and targeting capabilities under even the toughest
conditions. Optimized for fixed and rotary wing aircraft, UAS, combat vehicles,
naval platforms and ground applications, our payloads include several sensors,
MWIR FLIRs (3rd generation), day channels with zoom, eye-safe rangefinders or
laser target designators, and laser pointers in a stabilized turret. Elop’s main
observation and surveillance products include:

AMPS (Advanced Multi-Sensor Payload System) - optimized for a full-range
of airborne intelligence tasks, AMPS completes the cycle that starts with initial
gathering of vital intelligence and ends with Bomb Damage Assessment
(BDA).

CoMPASS™ (Compact Multi-Purpose Advanced Stabilized System) – a 15”
stabilized payloads family used for airborne, naval and ground applications. It
features excellent stabilization performance, accurate Line-Of-Sight (LOS)
positioning, high quality day and night sensors, lasers, effective image
processing algorithms and an exceptionally easy to operate Human Machine
Interface (HMI).

Micro CoMPASS™ is an extremely lightweight 8” electro optical payload for
small UAS and other airborne, marine and ground platforms. It features a
unique miniature cooled continuous zoom FLIR, color TV camera, laser target
illuminator and optional eye-safe laser rangefinder.

most advanced digital electronics and networking technologies with high
performance capabilities. DCoMPASS® introduces some of the market
leading operational benefits, exceptionally high resolution, digital imagery,
precise target location using on gimbal IMU, advanced tracking and image
processing algorithms, all packed in the lightest single LRU, stabilized
payload in its class. DCoMPASS® allows network IP operation via digital
Ethernet interface.
Hyperspectral Systems – Chariots of Fire
Elop's hyperspectral imaging technology enables simultaneous imaging of a
region of interest at hundreds of wavelengths. Unlike conventional imaging,
which is designed to detect the contours of an object/target, hyperspectral
imaging detects imaged materials based on their spectral signatures.

aircraft, commercial aircraft and other air vehicles.
Head Up Displays (HUDs):
Elop has supplied more than 3,500 HUDs, flying on more than 20 types of
aircraft: fighters, trainers and transport aviation, both commercial and military, to
customers around the globe. Our HUDs feature stroke on raster display, digital
image source, high brightness, wide angle FOV, high uniformity of symbols/see
through, a depressible stand-by sight, very high MTBF and a variety of customertailored Up Front Control Panels (UFCPs) configurations.
3
DIRCM:
The threat of MANPADS (ground to air heat seeking man-portable missiles) has
grown considerably over the last few years. Elbit Systems Electro-optics Elop’s
Multi Spectral Infrared Countermeasure (MUSIC®) systems are a family of
DIRCM (Directed IR Counter Measure) solutions for protecting aircraft against
heat seeking ground to air missiles. These systems integrate advanced fiber
laser technology together with a high rate thermal camera and a small, highly
dynamic mirror turret to provide effective, reliable and affordable protection to all
types of aircraft and under all operational conditions. Designed in an open
architecture, our systems can easily be integrated on any type of aircraft. Elop’s
systems are under production for several programs around the world and are
suitable for a large variety of military, VIP and commercial aircraft. Elop’s DIRCM
solutions include the following:

MUSIC® - A DIRCM system for the protection of helicopters and smallmedium fixed wing turboprop aircraft. This system has been selected by
the Italian Air Force and is planned to be installed (in a dual turret
configuration) on the C-130J, C-27J, AW101 CSAR helicopters. The
system has already been supplied to VIP helicopters as well.

mini-MUSIC™ - An advanced, flight-tested DIRCM system in a single
compact and lightweight package that provides high-performance
protection against MANPADS for small and medium sized rotary and
fixed-wing platforms.

J-MUSIC™ - A DIRCM system for the protection of large aircraft (heavy
transporters, tankers, VIP jets etc.). This system uses the same DIRCM as
the C-MUSIC™ (see below). The system can be easily integrated on any
type of aircraft, in a single or dual turret configuration. The system was
selected for Embraer's KC-390 program for the Brazilian Air Force.

C-MUSIC™ - A complete self protection solution (including the J-MUSIC
DIRCM and the C-PAWS IR Missile warning system), installed in a pod
and especially designed for the protection of civil and VIP large jets from
MANPADS. This system was selected by the Israeli Government for the
protection of its entire commercial fleet and was designed to meet the
requirements of both commercial certification and protection of large
aircraft. This is the first program in the world to provide a complete
protection solution for commercial aviation. The system is being offered to
the international market and there is considerable interest by many
potential customers operating commercial, VIP and military aircraft.

Thermal Imaging:
A world leader in cooled thermal imaging technologies, Elop's FLIRs employ the
latest IR cooled (3-5µm and 8-12µm), in addition to advanced uncooled
technologies FPA signal and image processing. Elop's FLIRs deliver a day/night
observation and surveillance advantage for air, naval, and ground applications.
The full-range of products includes CORAL, hand-held family of cameras, today
the industry-leader, in use on four continents. The 3-5m FPA binocular viewer
weighing less than 2.5 kg, as well as medium and long-range cameras/night
sights, super long-range observation sensors, clip-on night sights, elbow sights
and night driving systems for AFVs/MBTs, coastal, naval and airborne sensors.
Among our latest products is the compact Mini-CORAL uncooled, hand-held
thermal imager with target acquisition capabilities, low power consumption and
an operating time of more than 8 hours. These features make Mini-CORAL an
optimal solution to a wide range of applications including, security and perimeter
defense, infantry, scouts and special units and target acquisition. Our Long View
CR is a multifunction day/night very long-range observation and target acquisition
system. Integrating a FLIR, day chananel, ELRF, GPS and magnetic compass,
the system is mounted on a goniometer for enhanced accuracy.
Lasers
Maintaining an international position at the forefront of laser technologies such as
diode pumped technology for over three decades, Elop's rich laser product
repertoire includes a full range of designators, range-finders and more. The
company's latest generation PLDR weighs 5.5 kg and designates to ranges of 10
km, ruggedized to meet and even exceed harsh environmental conditions. It can
be carried by an individual soldier and used for stand-off designation for
maximum protection. The PDLR features electronic compass and GPS, tactical
computer for targeting laser-guided munitions. Elop has developed an entire
class of fiber lasers which are utilized as the “engine” for numerous military and
commercial products for helicopter obstacle warning, such as the SWORD
Obstacle Warning System. SWORD is a unique Laser Radar (LADAR) providing
obstacle detection and real-time alerts to helicopter pilots flying at low altitudes
and adverse weather conditions. One of the latest additions to the lasers product
repertoire is the PLDR III ground designator. Featuring the fully qualified Diode
Pumped Compact Transmitter (DPCT), PLDR IIIprovides unsurpassed ground
designating performance for its size and weight – 8 km to a tank target. The
RattlerTM G , characterized by miniature size, weight and power (SwaP)is a
cutting edge dismounted hand-held, man-portable target designator/marker
which rapidly enables warfighter to bring effective fire to bear on hostile targets..
