Field Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and understanding:
On completion of the Field, students should be able to:

understand some of the fundamental concepts, issues and debates in psychology;
understand how the established principles in social psychology were developed;
demonstrate preliminary knowledge of social processes.

display knowledge of various theoretical approaches to social identity;
understand the various approaches to studying auto/biography and narrative;
appreciate ways of connecting individual experience to society;
demonstrate an understanding of, and be conversant with, some of the fundamental
concepts, issues and debates concerning mental health and its associated methods

demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the social psychology of intergroup
relations;
demonstrate that you are conversant with some of the fundamental concepts, issues

On completion of the Field, students should be able to:

appraise and evaluate psychological research and be able to relate psychology to
everyday life;
apply social psychological analysis to everyday situations and experience.

construct a social scientific auto/biographical analysis of yourself, another person, or
public figure;
appraise and evaluate methods in psychological research;
demonstrate critical awareness of issues in mental health and the problems posed
for contemporary psychology.

appraise and evaluate psychological research;
