David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy is a School of
Choice. Each applicant must attend a student interview and submit
a report card at the interview. Each applicant must successfully
pass to the next grade. Each applicant must make a “C” or better in
his/her Math or Science core classes. Each applicant must
complete an online application. Please visit the Schools of Choice

All courses taught at SLCC for junior and senior years will be dually
enrolled. Students will take college courses at SLCC and receive credit
both for high school graduation and future college enrollment.

Students may qualify for dual enrollment courses at ULL their senior
year. These students would be enrolled at ULL and receive credit for
count both for high school graduation and future university enrollment.

The DTSMA Environmental Science Curriculum Framework will:
 Be aligned to the national/state/district academic standards.
 Include problem/project-based and interactive learning.
 Be sequential and age-appropriate in content.
 Integrate career development and employability skills.
 Meet postsecondary and Louisiana TOPS requirements.
 Allow for students to receive LA Department of Education academic and career and technical diploma endorsements.
 Insure the appropriate level of each core course (regular and honors) with teacher, counselor, parents, and student input.
 Follow the Louisiana Core 4 (4 years of the 4 core classes in addition to current TOPS requirements).
