The following is a listing of scholarship opportunities directed to Pottsgrove
students through email and US Mail. Review the listing to determine
eligibility for a particular scholarship. Review the requirements for each to
decide if a particular scholarship should be pursued. Visit the website
provided and complete the application on-line or pick up a paper copy (if
applicable) in the guidance office.
***For scholarships that require an official transcript,
complete a transcript release form and submit it to the
guidance office, allowing two weeks to process this
request. Students are responsible for picking up the
official sealed transcript and adding it to the scholarship
application. Students must gather ALL necessary
materials (Letters of recommendation, transcripts,
signatures, copy of awards etc.), organize them and mail
them to the address provided by the deadline. The
guidance office does not mail scholarship applications
(unless noted for a few particular scholarships). Those
applications that require a return to the guidance office
will be noted.
It is important that all directions, suggestions and guidelines be followed for
each scholarship. Failure to follow these directions or failure to mail or turn
in by the deadline may mean disqualification as a candidate for the
scholarship.

Finally, please make a note on your calendar: in December, you and a
parent should obtain your pin numbers at www.pin.ed.gov ; January 1st is the
first day you are able to submit your FAFSA. Go online to www.fafsa.ed.gov
and print out the worksheet; complete it when you have all of the
information and submit the information online electronically with your pin
number. MCCC offers free FAFSA Completion Nights. Please check their

***Financial Aid Night: For all Pottsgrove
Families- takes place in December. Further
information on the date will be provided. Parents of
juniors and seniors will receive a phone blast
reminder prior to the scheduled date. All
Pottsgrove families are welcome.
This is the only school sponsored college financial
aid/planning night. Outside organizations who rent
our facilities may offer a similar program (but
seeking clients)-- BUT the program is not school
sponsored !!!!

(A)
AAA Safety Patrol Scholarship- Candidates for the Safety Patrol
Scholarship must
be high school seniors and have documented proof of participation in the
AAA’s
School Safety Program.
NOMINEES FOR THE FOUR YEAR ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP: They
must rank in the top 25% of their class, have a strong record of
scholastic achievement and participation in extracurricular activities.
NOMINEES FOR THE TWO-YEAR VOCATIONAL/NON-VOCATIONAL
SCHOLARSHIP: Students must be enrolled in an accredited vocational or
non-vocational program, and have a strong record of achievements.
-Qualified scholarship candidates should obtain an application in the high
school guidance office once available (by posting and announcement).
Once completed and all materials are gathered by the student and put
together for the committee, the student must hand in all materials to the
guidance office. ONE STUDENT FOR EACH SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORY
WILL BE SELECTED TO REPRESENT POTTSGROVE IN THE
COMPETITION.
(Applications typically are available in January with a March deadline.)
Abbott & Fenner Scholarship- seniors can apply for this scholarship
which requires a response to an essay question and possibly receive
$1,000. Students can visit the website for further information:

Academy of Massage Therapy Grant-($1,000) must be a graduating senior
from Pottsgrove High School and begin attending the Academy in the July
or October term; must attend as a full-time student. Students who apply
should be of good character and in good standing in the community as
well as school. Students must gather all necessary paperwork to mail to
the address provided by the deadline.
(Applications typically are available in April and should be mailed prior to
June.)
**The Alumni Association of Pottsgrove Award- This $400 award is
available to
Pottsgrove Seniors who are involved in extra-curricular activities, who
maintain good grades and demonstrate citizenship. Students must write
an essay: “What has Pottsgrove done for you?” and focus the response
in three areas- academics, extra-curricular and educators.
(Applications for this award are made available in the beginning of April
and have a deadline of the first school day in May.)
AES Engineers Scholarship- ($500)- seniors planning to pursue their
education and who are strong academic students, any college major is
eligible. Students must go on-line beginning in August to:

paperwork to complete application and submit by the early October
deadline
The American Dream Scholarships ($1,000)- recognizes the
accomplishments of seniors who have demonstrated academic
achievement along with a commitment to community service. Seniors
must plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an
accredited two-or four-year college, university or vocational-technical
school in the United States; have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B),
demonstrate involvement in community service activities, volunteerism,
school activities and/or employment responsibilities. (Students should
apply on-line at
commerceonline.com/americandream Applications can be visited
beginning in late October with a mid-December deadline)
The American Heritage Federal Credit Union Scholarship- ($1,000) This
scholarship is available for seniors who will be attending an accredited
institution, be a member in good standing of American Heritage; criteria
considered for this scholarship are: academic achievement, GPA, extracurricular activities and community involvement, student evaluation and
writing skills. Applications are available at www.amhfcu.org
Students are responsible for obtaining all necessary materials and mailing
them to the address by the deadline. ( This scholarship is usually
accessible in late January and has an early April deadline.)
American Legion Essay Contest (PA)- (First place- $3,500)- open to
seniors, essays must have a cover page with specific information, essays
must meet specifications and topic of the A.L. and are judged on proper
English structure, accuracy, extent of information and originality.
Students must complete the essay to all specifications and turn it in to
guidance by mid January. A committee will select the winner to
represent Pottsgrove High School for the early February deadline and
that essay will be forwarded to the local post for judging at the next
level.
American Legion Oratorical Contest- (First place- $7,500)- The contest
will consist of two parts. (A) An 8-10 minute, memorized oration will be
given on some phase of the US Constitution. (B) A 3-5 minute
extemporary oration on one of the four “assigned topics” assigned by
National Headquarters. (Applications are mailed to the guidance office
and are available in late November with a deadline to the local post in
mid-January). Students are responsible for preparing all materials and
getting them into the hands of the local AL post.
**American Legion of Pottsgrove Post #244 Americanism Award(medallion, pin, certificate) seniors, who have or have had family members
in a military branch of service or who are planning to enter a military
service organization or ROTC. Students must pick up an application in
guidance in early April, complete application and essay and return to
guidance for the early May deadline.
American Welding Society Scholarship- ($500)- (Students can apply for
both the section and district scholarships and are both included- seniors
who have a real interest and desire to advance his/her education and
training in the field of welding or materials joining or welding intensive
education……metallurgy, chemistry, physics, engineering, blue-print
reading etc. and must be a US citizen. Students must complete
application and gather all necessary paperwork and return all to the
address provided by the deadline. (Applications are typically available in
guidance in mid-January and have a deadline of early March.
The Anna M. Vincent Scholarship- (between $1,000 and $5,000)- seniors
pursuing higher education, worthy of financial assistance. Students who
have not held a paying job while in school may not be considered for
funding. Students must complete an application on-line at:

The deadline for this application is typically March 1st. Students are
responsible for securing all necessary materials and recommendation
requests.
The Arthur Nuzzo Memorial Scholarship- ($100)- senior from Pottstown
area high schools interested in photography with evidence of involvement
in school activities, church or community service, and/or after school
employment. Applications are available in the guidance office in early
April and are due back in guidance mid-May). A representative will pick
up applications and materials in guidance. Students are responsible for
gathering all necessary materials and submitting them in whole form in
guidance.
Asian American Nursing Scholarship- seniors from Asian Heritage, who
have financial need, are accepted into an accredited Nursing program,
have a willingness to work post graduation at Methodist for 3 years and
write an essay focused on the reasons for selective a nursing career.
Students must pick up an application in the guidance office (available in
April and all applications and materials must be prepared by student and
mailed by the June deadline).
Asian American Women’s Coalition Cecilia Moy Yep Scholarship($5,000)- seniors, Asian American female students who excelled in her
studies in high school, pursuing an undergraduate education, have a 3.0
(B) GPA, demonstrate financial need. Students must gather and provide
all necessary materials for the committee and follow instructions for
submission. (Applications are typically available in late January for a
mid-March deadline.)
Automotive Training Center Scholarship- seniors interested in attending
ATC should plan to take the scholarship test at a time designated. There
are multiple test dates throughout the year. Students should visit the

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship- ($2,000)- seniors pursuing
higher education, who have ambition and drive, determination to set and
reach goals, respect for self, family and community, and the ability to
succeed in college. Students must go on-line to

for scholarship applications and requirements. Students are responsible
for securing the appropriate evaluations, recommendations and materials
to complete the application. Students must have all materials prepared by
the deadline and forward those materials to the address provided.
(Deadline for this scholarship is typically mid-February).
(B)
Beneficial Scholars Program Scholarships- (one $20,000 and one $5,000)high
school seniors who plan to attend an accredited higher education
institution. Must
complete an essay provided by Beneficial (example: “What is the most
important
issue facing your larger community or your specific neighborhood and
how would you
act as a force for good in responding to this concern?” (Applications
typically sent to
guidance office in late October with a mid-December deadline.) Student
is
responsible for mailing all necessary materials to address provided by
the deadline.)
B. Davis Scholarship- ($1,000)- juniors and seniors, essay less than 1,000
words responding to the following: What do you consider to be the most
important issue that society has to deal with in the next 10 or 20 years?

BIE Robert T. Palladino Memorial Scholarship- ($1,000)- seniors who
have exhibited potential to succeed in a building trades career, is
involved in the community and has a “C” scholastic average or better.
Students can pick up an application in guidance sometime in late
February. Student must complete application and gather all necessary
materials and mail to the address provided by the early April deadline.
BigSun Scholarship- ($500)-seniors athletes who succeed in their
academic pursuits and who are continuing their education. Students must
go on-line for all rules of participation and to apply: (typically opens in
November)

Black Women’s Educational Alliance Academic Minority Scholarshipseniors, continuing education; GPA of 3.0 (B); students must complete an
application and gather all necessary materials. Applications can be
secured in the guidance office in late January and students must mail all
materials by the late March deadline.
Berks Technical Institute Scholarship- seniors interested in attending BTI
should plan to take the scholarship test at a time designated. There are
multiple test dates throughout the year. Students should visit the website

Best Buy Scholarships- for students in grades 9-12.

Bounce Energy “Be More” Scholarship- ($2,500)- current high school
students, minimum GPA 3.0, PA resident. Complete a 500 word essay
and application on line at:

Burger King Scholars Program- ($1,000, $5,000 and $25,000)- seniors
who are actively employed at least part time (do not have to be employed
by Burger King), planning on continuing education must visit the website

Students are responsible for providing and securing all necessary
information.
Buick Achievers Scholarship- ($25,000 and $2,000)- seniors who will be
enrolling for full-time study as a first-time freshmen at a 4-year college
or university, plan to major in one of the following: Math, Business
Administration, Finance, Marketing, or Design and are interested in a
career in the automotive or related industries. Students must go on-line
at

for the application and instructions. Students are responsible for all
materials.
(C)
**Carl Burns Jr. Scholarship- ($1,000)- for a senior preparing for a post
secondary education and is based on acceptance and enrollment in a post
secondary educational program. Applicants must exhibit exemplary
character and financial need. Students must respond to an essay
question, “How have your parents, your school and your participation in
organizations helped to develop the character that you possess?”
Students must pick up the application in guidance in the beginning of April
and return to guidance by the early May deadline with all necessary
materials attached.
Cecilia Moy Yep Scholarship- ($1,250 for four years)- senior Asian
American female students who have excelled in her studies or other
fields of endeavor and plan to continue education, 3.0 GPA, financial
need, extracurricular activities and community service. Students can pick
up the application at the end of February and collect all necessary
materials and mail by the late March deadline provided.
**The Charles R. Graham Scholarship- (varies from $100 to $2,000)- is
given annually to a student in the Pottsgrove High School graduating
class who plans to prepare for a professional service occupation in health
care, criminology, or social service. Priority will be given to candidates
who will study criminology. Students must pick up application form in the
beginning of April in guidance, complete form and provide proof of
acceptance. Deadline to return form to guidance office is the beginning
of May.
Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship- ($20,000 and $10,000)- seniors
who demonstrate leadership in school, a commitment to community, show
academic achievement and are employed part-time. Students must go
on-line at

Deadline is October 31 each year.
The College JumpStart Scholarship- up to $1,500 to 10-12 graders and is
a merit-based scholarship; students must be legal residents of US and
attend a college in US in major of choice. Apply on-line at:

Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship- seniors pursuing careers in
agriculture must go on-line at
www.monsanto.com or www.nafb.com for information and
application.
**Craig Hunter Memorial Scholarship- ($500 + 1 year membership to
Pottstown Y)- seniors, planning on attending a four year college or
university; member of the Pottstown YMCA and the Fitness/Wellness
Center; involved in school and community activities, taken an art class at
Pottsgrove. Students must pick up application in early April in guidance
or at the YMCA. Applications must be returned to the guidance office by
the early May deadline.
(D)
David Michael Reid Foundation Scholarship- ( 1 full scholarship/tuition,
board, books)- open to seniors who have a stellar history of academic
performance or who show a significant improvement from a challenging
first year or two in high school, minimum 3.0 (B) GPA, combined SAT
(CR+M) 1000, be an active participant in extracurricular activities, be a
positive contributor to his or her community and display financial need.
Students must pick up the application in guidance in early January, gather
ALL necessary materials and place them together in a sealed envelope,
returning them to the guidance office in late January. A committee will
evaluate the applications and will submit one (1) to the Foundation for
consideration
Dear Mr. President Essay Contest- (between $1,000 and $5,000)- open to
high school seniors. Topic: “What important issue would you like the
President to address?” All information can be found on the website at
randmcnally.com/dearmrpresident Deadline is late November (be sure to
check Thanksgiving holiday break dates so that you can have a teacher
submit it for you on time.)
Delaware Valley Association of School Business Officials- seniors
pursuing business majors at an institution of higher learning. Students
must visit the website for information, application and deadline and are
responsible for preparing all documentation: open beginning in January
with a late March deadline.
Delaware Valley Engineers Outstanding High School Student Scholarship($1,000)- seniors considering majoring in engineering. Students may go
on-line in late October to:

including recommendations and submit them to the address provided by
the mid-November deadline.
Delaware Valley School Facility Managers Association Scholarship- (up to
$2,000)- for seniors who are planning to continue their education at a
trade or technical school (with coursework concentrated in the building
trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electric etc. Students must pick up
application in guidance office at the beginning of March, gather ALL
necessary materials and complete application and mail to the address
provided by the mid-April deadline.
**Donna J. Webber Memorial Scholarship- ($10,000)- for a POTTSGROVE
senior preparing to enter a Christian College. Consideration for this four
year scholarship will be based on acceptance and enrollment in a
recognized Christian college (SEE LIST OF APPROVED COLLEGES IN
GUIDANCE OFFICE). Students will respond to the following question:
“What do you wish to do with your life that will benefit humanity?”
Students must pick up an application in guidance at the beginning of April
and return to the guidance office for the early May deadline.

student, have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in
community service, extracurricular or other activities, meet the Federal

Guardian Girls Going Places Entrepreneurial Scholarship- (up to $10,000)cash prizes to girls who are enterprising and community-minded, who

income per family is preferred, if higher explanation must be provided),

Hospital Central Services Inc. Student Volunteer Scholarship (Keystone

scholarship should be awarded to the applicant, school to be attended,
major course of study planning to pursue, future aspirations. Applications
must be picked up in the guidance office at the beginning of April and

The John McKee Scholarship- (up to $16,000)- college or vocational
training scholarships for seniors who are: fatherless boys, in need of
financial assistance. Students must pick up an application in the guidance
office in December, complete application and secure all necessary
materials, and provide all materials in order in a stamped envelope to
your counselor for completion of the school form. Counselor will
complete school form and mail the materials student provided.
Applications are typically due in the beginning of February and the
student must allow appropriate amount of time for completion of
counselor form.

KFC Colonel’s Scholarship- (up to $20,000)- seniors with financial need
and an entrepreneurial spirit, earn a minimum high school GPA of 2.75

Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship- (up to $10,000)- this program
recognizes and rewards young volunteers who have helped make their
communities a better place. Volunteer efforts must have occurred in the
last year, actions must be described in detail and should document efforts
above and beyond what is normally expected. Students must request that
their volunteer nominator go on-line to complete nominator form (this
person should be familiar with your volunteering experiences and be able

Laws of Life Essay Contest- The "Laws of Life" essay contest is open to seniors

certificate program (ie: Longwood Gardens) or working in an internship
or traineeship at a botanical garden or arboretum. Students must pick up

Penrose L. Keller Scholarship Presented by Stichter Lodge- ($1,000 year

**Pottsgrove Education Association Scholarship- ($500)- seniors planning
to attend an accredited 4-year institution and to major in education.
Student must pick up application in guidance in early April, provide letter
of acceptance, transcript and essay: “Why I am majoring in education”
and turn in all materials to the guidance office by the early May deadline.
Pottstown Area Artists Guild Award- ($250)- senior art students who will
be pursuing a career n the field of art (competition is with local area high
schools). Students must pick up application in guidance in early March,
complete short application form, prepare artwork as indicated in the

Pottstown Elks Annual Student Assistance Award- ($5,000)- seniors, US
Citizen. Financial need, leadership and scholarship, as well as
citizenship, personality, perseverance and resourcefulness are the
criteria by which applicants will be judged. Students of outstanding merit
have the best chance to win an award. Experience indicates students
with high scholarship ratings, excellent leadership qualities and a well
rounded personality generally qualify for final consideration. Financial
need is a very important part of the formula. Students can pick up an

R.O.S.E. African American/ PHI BETA OMEGA Chapter Scholarshipseniors of African American descent who intend to pursue higher
education at an accredited college or university. Students must pick up
an application in the guidance office in late January, complete application
and gather all necessary paperwork to complete the application (letters of
recommendation, transcript, essay) and mail to the address provided by
the late March deadline.

SAE Engineering Scholarships- seniors intending to earn a degree in
engineering or a related science (math, chemistry, physics, biology,
technologies, computer science), US Citizen, meet minimum SAT/ACT
requirements for each scholarship. Students must go on-line from early
September for scholarship information and applications (with instructions)
to:
www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm Students are
responsible to follow all instructions for application procedures and for
securing all paperwork and by submitting on-line or by mail by the early
December deadline.
SAMMY Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year Scholarship- ($7,500)recognizes seniors who are outstanding scholar athletes who are judged
on academic performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community
service and milk experience essay. Students must go to the website for

Shandy Hill Scholarship- ($30,000)- seniors attending the four Pottstown
area high schools are invited to write an essay on their perception of any
aspect of life and/or progress in the greater Pottstown area (specific
items to be discussed as part of essay are noted in the application
packet). Rules and guidelines are provided. Students must pick up an
application instruction packet in guidance in late January and submit all
necessary materials by the early May deadline.
Shepherd of the Hills Christian Preschool/Peg Merkley Scholarship($500)- seniors who completed the Pre-K class at Shepherd of the Hills
Christian Preschool, who has been accepted into a post high school study
program, demonstrated citizenship and character by participating in
extra-curricular and community activities and who possess an acceptable
scholastic record. Applications are available in the guidance office in
March and have a late April deadline.
Soroptimist International of Pottstown Scholarship- ($1,000)- senior
female student, daughter of female “head of household”, cumulative GPA
of 3.00 or higher, planning to attend a 2-year (associate degree) or a 4year (baccalaureate degree) program, have a maximum family income:
$80,000 or less. Students are responsible to pick up an application
packet in guidance in mid-February, complete application, write essay
(How can I be a future role model or mentor for other women and girls?
And How will this award help me to accomplish this goal? - gather all
necessary paperwork and mail by the end of March deadline.
**The Spatz Scholarship- ($500)- seniors, top 20% of the class showing
outstanding academic achievement as well as significant extracurricular
involvement, planning to continue their education at a four year college or
university. Special consideration will be given to those applicants
planning to study in the sciences or health care fields. Students must
pick up an application in the guidance office in early April, complete
application and return it to guidance in early May.
Special Needs Children’s Foundation of Montgomery County PostSecondary Education & Training Scholarships- ($300-$400)- these
scholarships are awarded to students to further develop and thrive in the
post-secondary environment and to successfully enter and compete in
the labor force upon graduation from trade schools, apprenticeship
programs, community colleges or universities; student must be a senior
with “special needs” (individual with a disability- mental retardation, hard
of hearing, deaf, speech and language impaired, blind, partially sighted,
orthopedically impaired, learning or behavioral disability) Students must
pick up an application in guidance in February and complete application
and secure all materials and signatures by the mid-March due date.
Student Insights Student View Scholarship- ($500-$4,000)- seniors who
plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career
school. Students log onto website at

and complete a 20 minute survey to enter name. Website is available for
survey from February until mid-April.
SunTrust Off To College Scholarship- ($1,000)- seniors who are planning
to attend college or a career school. Students must register late October
through early May on-line at:

Susanna DeLaurentis Memorial Scholarship- ($1,000)- college-bound
seniors with superior academic and extracurricular achievements who
contend with a chronic disease or other serious challenge to physical or
mental health. Students must pick up application in guidance in midMarch, complete brief application and supply all supporting materials to
address provided by the mid-April deadline.

Tanitha Kulsiri Memorial Scholarship- ($500-$1,000)- seniors pursuing a
BS/BA degree at an accredited college// and another scholarship for a
senior living with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Students must
go on-line for all instructions and to complete an application beginning in
January and prepare all materials for mailing by the May deadline.
Tri County Area Federal Credit Union- ($1,500)- seniors, members and
children of members of the Tri County Area Federal Credit Union, have a
minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, planning to further your education at an
accredited college or trade school. Students should go on-line in January
at:

for scholarship information and
application, complete application and essay, gather all necessary
paperwork to complete the application and submit it by the mid-March
deadline.
Tri-County Assoc. of NAIFA/Keytone Foundation Undergraduate College
Schol.- open to PA seniors is a $4,000 award. Awards are based on
student’s leadership potential, financial need, academic merit and
community service. Applications can be picked up in the guidance office
in mid-February and must be returned to guidance with ALL materials
including letters of recommendation by mid-March.
Tri-County Career Women Student Scholarship- female seniors, planning
to continue education. This scholarship may not be available each year.
It involves completing an application, essays and transcript. If
scholarship is offered it will be available in early March in the guidance
office.

USW Hugh Carcella Scholarship- ($4,000)- seniors, children of member
of a United Steelworkers, District 10 (Eastern) local union—(or child of
retiree, disabled or deceased member). Selection will be based on grades
and SAT score. Students must obtain an application from the
participating local union in November, complete the application and
gather supporting documentation and signatures and mail by the midMarch deadline.
USA Funds Scholarship- ($1,500)- seniors with financial need, are
members of an ethnic minority group or are physically disabled. Students
must visit the website from mid-December to the deadline date in midFebruary for details and to complete the application.

Valley Forge Chapter/Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers($200-$25,000)- seniors planning to attend Drexel University or Temple
University to major in Engineering, must meet/exceed minimum test
scores (SAT M-600; CR-500), US Citizen. Students must pick up an
application in guidance in late November, complete application and gather
all necessary paperwork and mail to the address provided by the January
deadline.
Violet Richardson Award/Soroptimist International- ($500)- female high
school students who make the community and world a better place
through volunteer efforts such as: fighting drugs, crime and violence;
cleaning u the environment; and working to end discrimination and
poverty. Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are of particular
interest. Students can pick up the applications in the guidance office in
November, complete the application and gather all necessary paperwork
to complete the application, then mail it to the address provided by the
early December deadline.

**Walter & Bertha Wolf Scholarship- ($500 yr for 4 years)- seniors, basis
for selection is financial need, scholastic ability and evidence of college
acceptance. Financial need is the controlling factor. This scholarship
will be given to students whose residence is in LOWER Pottsgrove. If
additional scholarships are available after qualified students from Lower
are selected, students living in other townships (Upper and West) will
also be considered. Students must pick up an application in guidance in
early April, complete it and return to guidance for the early May deadline.

Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship- ($1,000-$5,000)- seniorshistory buff or enjoy politics or is government or military service in
your futureVisit the website at:

applications. Deadline is typically in mid-January.
Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship- seniors with a “B” average,
who participate in at least one sport and who is a leader in school and in
the community. Students can go on-line in August to apply at
www.wendysheisman.com click on
students/parents and complete the on-line application. Students must
request that their counselor be the “reviewer” for their application upon
completion. Deadline is early March. (ALLOW FIVE SCHOOL DAYS
PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE FOR NOTIFICATION OF COUNSELOR)

**Zigmund M. Wisniewski, Jr. Memorial Scholarship- ($1,000)- Pottsgrove
High School Seniors ONLY- must be attending Western Montgomery
Center for Technical Studies (WMCTC), must be planning to continue
your education at a trade, technical, community, or at a two or fouryear college; student must supply proof of acceptance; students should
have satisfactory academic record that indicates they will be good
prospects to succeed academically continuing their education; and
demonstrate that they are either conscientious employees or students.
Students must write a 250-word essay explaining why they are applying
for the scholarship and their career and future educational goals; must
exhibit exemplary character and financial need. Students must pick up
application in the guidance office in the beginning of April and return to
guidance with all necessary materials to complete application packet by
the early May deadline.
******Please remember: students are responsible for collecting all
paperwork and materials and securing all necessary signatures and
nominations and preparing/mailing them to the addresses provided in each
scholarship by the deadline indicated in the applications.
