Early Intervention Program Directors – Holyoke and Springfield (2 positions)
MSPCC (Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) is a private, nonprofit

Program
MSPCC is one of the largest providers in Massachusetts of Early Intervention services for
children with, or at risk of, developmental delays due to biological, medical or environmental
factors. Services include eligibility screening, developmental assessment, home visits,
parent/child groups, toddler groups, parent education groups, parent counseling, speech and
language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition and health education and
information, referral and advocacy.
Qualifications
Meet education requirement of any of the Early Intervention disciplines. Understanding of child
development and experience working with young children. Experience and training in group
facilitation and team building. At least three years supervisory and program administrative
experience. Experience as member of a multidisciplinary team. Good listening skills;
nonjudgmental ability to foster self-sufficiency in families using problem-solving and practical
skills; familiarity with support groups or parent education group. Ability to establish trusting
relationships through compassion, empathy and insight. Be an effective Team leader.
Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of families from diverse cultural and linguistic
backgrounds. Ability to supervise staff and work with volunteers.
Essential Responsibilities
Job responsibilities are to be conducted with appropriate supervision and ongoing consultation
with the Site Director and Director of Prevention Services.
 Receive, review and ensure appropriate assignment of all Early Intervention (EI)
referrals;
 Insure the facilitation of all multidisciplinary team evaluations and assessments;
 Review Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and verification of eligibility forms;
 Supervise staff on a regularly scheduled basis. As multidisciplinary team leader, every
effort should be made to foster mutual respect, team camaraderie and self
empowerment among team members;
 Supervise and train staff to assure sensitivity to the needs of families from diverse
cultural, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds;
 Coordinate, development and implementation of staff trainings;
 Assure program is designed to optimally serve families’ needs.
 Assure all staff follow MSPCC/EI/DPH policies and procedures;
 Review termination decisions;
 Manage the collection of DPH and MSPCC evaluation data from staff and work with site,
Director of Prevention Services and Evaluation Department to insure accuracy and
program compliance;
 Oversee the on-going implementation of DPH; EIIS system;
 Write reports or provide program information as requested by MSPCC and DPH;
 Assure policy and procedures for transition plans are followed by EI staff;
 Manage and monitor weekly/monthly productivity for team;










Work with Site Director and Director of Prevention Services to develop and manage
program budget;
Screen and interview all candidates for EI site positions;
With direction from Site Director and Director of Prevention Services, work with other
area programs to assure ongoing coordination;
Network with community agencies in order to provide appropriate services for children
and families;
Promote awareness within the community of EI services through marketing, consultation
and availability of training;
Advocate for the development of needed services;
Complete all necessary MSPCC/DPH reports requested to include: quarterly surveys,
annual reports, etc.
Oversee all Specialty contracts and services;
Conduct Direct Care services as needed
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisor
