Faith North Montessori After School Classes
These classes will be held on the Faith North Main Campus
Classes run from the week of January 28th and will end May 10th unless otherwise noted.
Class times are from 3:25-4:25 unless otherwise noted.
Informational Sign-in Sheets are used for these classes but you must
Register for Chess Club, Jump Bunch, Play-Well TEKnologies, Twinkle Toes Dance,
Mad Science directly with the vendor.
Jewelry, Clay, Cooking and Homework Help Club registration will be held in the Faith North Main Campus Office.
FNM@Shaw students may ride the bus from Shaw to Faith North to attend classes
but must be picked up at the conclusion of class.
FNM@Shaw students may not transition to PEER on the Main Campus (state licensure rules).
Monday - Chess Club Come join our Chess Club. This club will be led by a real Chess Master. Research shows a
strong link between chess and academic performance and besides that, it’s just plain fun! This class can accommodate
20 children from grades K-8. Chess Club is $9400 and will be held in room 101. Please make checks payable and mail
to: The Chess Emporium (See attached flyer). Classes will be held January 28th-March 25th.
Monday - Jewelry Making with Lisa Ramirez In this class, students will learn to create jewelry through several different
techniques, using a variety of materials like, wire, ribbon, leather, silk, clay, found objects, beads and more. They will learn
how to “wire wrap” beads, create daisy chain, hand knot, and create one of a kind beads and more! Students can expect
to produce 10-12 jewelry pieces, which can be kept treasures or given as gifts. Class size is limited to 8, 4th through 8th
graders. Class cost $80.00 made payable at the time of sign up to the Faith North PTA and will be held in room 104.
Class times are 3:25-4:45.

Wednesday-Play-Well TEKnologies Engineering Fundamentals with Legos-Become a Play-Well Engineer. Take
on real life engineering challenges that explore concepts in physics, mechanical/structural engineering and architecture.
From motorized machines to castles and catapults, this is a hands on minds on class suitable for novices or “maniacs”!
Participants will have the support of a Play Well instructor to guide them. Class time: 1:30-3:00 (See attached flyer)
K-2nd grade January 30-March 13 $110.00; 3rd-5th grade March 27-May 15 no class on 4/17 or 4/24, $90.00 Room 100
Wednesday - Clay Class - Come explore different hand-building and glazing techniques! We do new projects each
semester. This semester we will be focusing on slab construction and a variety of decorative techniques, including
colored slips, sgraffito, and piercing. If you have worked with clay before, we will build upon your previous experience.
The class is open to K-8th grade. Class will meet on Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Class size is limited to 10
students. Cost: $100 (includes clay, glazes, tools and firing). Please make checks payable to Richelle Turley.

Wednesday-JB Sports JumpBunch is excited to be back at Faith North with our new JB Sports program for students
grades 1-6! With two different approaches combined each month, the goal is always the same: to help every student be
comfortable trying new sports and to help them appreciate the fun and rewards of regular physical activity.
For spring semester, students will have the opportunity to learn and play one new sport each month - not just the same
team sports. As a bonus, we will mix it up with the JumpBunch 60 Second Challenge. Don’t let your student miss out on a
chance to test their ingenuity and critical thinking as well as hone balance, agility, timing and fine and gross motor skills
during these fast-paced, action packed classes. Playing a different sport each month along with some exciting 60-second
challenges – what could be more fun?!? Upcoming sports for the spring semester include football, volleyball, and cardio
blast plus brand new challenges! JB Sports is open to students in grades 1-6 will be held every Wednesday at Faith

Wednesday-JumpBunch Sports & Fitness is an international program developed to provide exercise to kids in a
structured format that introduces a wide variety of sports and builds coordination, balance, and confidence. Activities for
the spring semester include Track and Field, Parachute Winter Wonderland, Basketball, Hula Hoopla, Step Aerobics,
Long Jump, and much more! Classes for Preschool and Kindergarten students (3-5 year olds) will be held every

Thursday - Twinkle Toes Dance Students will learn the basics of many styles of dance such as Ballet, Hip-hop, Jazz,
Lyrical and Musical Theater in a creative way, geared to their age group. Dance is a great way to involve children in a fun

Thursday - Mad Science Join our scientist for a hands-on science class that promises to spark your imagination and
curiosity. Areas of study will include Sun and Stars, Living in Space, Planets and Moons, Rocket Science, Space
Phenomena, Space Technology and Space Travel. This class will be held in room 116 and is open to K-4th grades.
Class begins on Thursday, March 14 and runs thru Thursday, May 16th. Class cost is $79.95 and has limited availability.

Thursday – Dish One Come lean how to make scrumptious one dish meals. Chili’s, Casseroles, Soups, Quiches and
Pasta’s. Think Gourmet Mac & Cheese, Spinach, Mushroom and Bacon Quiche, Cheesy Broccoli Rice Casserole, and
Spaghetti and Pasta Primavera. 4th through 8th grade. 1st session 1/31 through 3/14. 2nd Session 3/21 through 5/2. Limited
to 9 students each session. Class times are 3:45 -5:15 in the Kitchen. $65.00 – Make checks out to Faith North PTA.
